I agree I use the funk all the time and the Rivian site says 9.9 cubic feet and the old one was 11.1 cubic feet from what I found online. I typically put in a 14 cubic foot tote in mine with room to spare so I know the dimensions aren't measuring the full space.
I can't tell from the pictures...
First this is a great writeup and I'm glad to see Rivian moving forward. I never expected to get some of the self driving and other camera focused features on Gen 1 vehicles. But I do hope they work on the suspension tuning of the R1S more for Gen 1 vehicles. It seems to be all over the place...
I have a quad motor and when in all purpose and highest setting it lowers down automatically at a certain speed. I'm guessing it was around 45mph but I wasn't looking at the speed to check.
I'm sure this is done for multiple reasons based on the engineering of the vehicle or maybe even safety...
As others stated new technology is always on the way but at some point you need to make the leap. I did with Rivian because I like the vision the company has and I needed a larger SUV that could go offroad.
As far as Rivian staying in business I really think Rivian will be around long term...
The issue with that is what if your neighbor has a Rivian and lets you borrow the adaptor they received from Rivian for a trip? Then you can't use it which would create a horrible experience for little to no gain.
I wonder if this is some sort of investment in Rivian while giving Apple vehicle information for self driving. Data can be quite lucrative and they could anonymize the data to not give personal information.
Other thought would be getting Apple music and Apple TV+ on the Rivian which would help...
Thanks for posting this! I have entered into multiple raffles and while I've never won I like these raffles over tons of emails asking for donations and giving me garbage in return.
I also like giving money to clean and promote renewables as much as possible!
You are right I don't know the political leanings of every CEO for every product. Do you know why? Because those CEOs keep their mouths shut and try to be careful with their image. Elon did this for years and all of a sudden he couldn't do it anymore and his true side is coming out. Same thing...
I think the drop is due to a combination of things happening all at once.
Moving pricing up and down rapidly has caused people to wonder if it is the right move to purchase a Tesla or wait to see if prices drop further.
Changing in EV discounts in CA making people think differently (probably...
I'm curios to know how many reservations they have. I was just out with some friends all of whom have one or more Tesla vehicles and one put in an reservation for an R2 and the others were thinking about doing the same.
Having a lot of reservations can be a turnoff for some people as it might...
Mapping: I completely agree as someone who has had my R1S since July 2003 I really complained about the navigation but it has really gotten better I feel in the past two months. It now seems to have more current traffic information and even routes around it. In fact just recently on a drive it...
Well I would be curious about the size of the rock and if they had requirements on where to procure it from.
I know politicians can sometimes demand something that seems simple but then when you really get to it the ask was much harder than expected or has other risks.
USAA in MD here although I'm going to be shopping around this year since I added the R1S and my son this past year so my payment jumped through the roof.
Everyone has different experiences and expectations on road trips. I grew up in a house were we left early in the morning 3-5am and the first time we stopped it was because we needed to fill up 4-6 hours into the trip depending on traffic.
As an adult I'm a bit more relaxed and typically leave...
While I'm not opposed to Rivian being bought out VW is one of the few companies I don't want to purchase them. VW is slow to change and would focus on cutting costs instead of building better products. I know a lot of people who love VWs but I also know a lot who had nothing but issues.
In the...
But if you hit 188kW then the charger was charging more than the 150 rating. I have charged at 150kW charger that maxed out at that rate and it added 10 minutes compared to the RAN charger I hit up next.
