  4. UPDATED LOCATION: Central Texas Rivian Meet-up: San Marcos, TX - Saturday, May 20 from 9am to Noon

So sorry we'll miss you!! Next time, hopefully... This will actually be my first trip longer than about 30 minutes in my R1S, so I can't wait... Should be a few hours to San Marcos and then another few back to Houston, so a decent bit of time to spend in it -- FINALLY :)

  6. What kind of loaner rentals have you gotten?

A boat AKA a Nissan Armada -- for 5 weeks (collision repair). Hated it, but charging plate and CarPlay were awesome :)
  7. Rivian signs first data licensing agreement with Mitchell to expedite collision repairs

That's right, I think. When mine went in they had to use "Toyota" parts to quote the repair since there was no central database with Rivian parts.
  8. What'd you name / nickname your Rivian?

Dolly...as in Parton... Life-long Dolly fan here. There's much more than meets the eye to Dolly, and I feel like Rivians are the same...
  9. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

You got it -- I hadn't heard of it either until someone on this forum (thankfully!!) mentioned it under my original post... Makes sense though - I was not at fault, and had my car for 4 days, and now it has an accident on its record. Even though it was a minor accident with no frame damage or...
  10. I bought 4 more R1Ts today

I found my two at a Dollar Tree here in Houston - it was the first one I went to, and my daughter and I went to about 10 more this weekend (Dollar Tree and Family Dollar -- I think they are the same company?) and found NOTHING!!! Boo!!! At least I have two to give way!
  11. Rivian R1S wrecked... 4 days after delivery! (but you should see the other guy...)

In the event it is helpful, I documented my collision repair experience here. Part of the reason they say it took so long was they had to completely take apart the back side as shown in the photos posted by "the long way down under" above. And of course parts took 12 weeks... Good luck!!!!
  12. Rivian R1S wrecked... 4 days after delivery! (but you should see the other guy...)

WOW!! I'd say you got super lucky with just a new bumper looking at the damage to the other vehicle! Were you able to get it replaced relatively quickly, or did it take a while? Just over 4 months for mine, but then again mine had quite a bit more damage than yours...
  13. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

For a nanosecond there I thought you were insulting someone LOL - then I saw his handle ;) And thank you - will do!!!
  14. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

This is super helpful - thank you so much!! I guess I will get started with finding the appraiser... Appreciate the guidance!
  15. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

Yep. Body shop said the main part that was slowest to arrive was the rear quarter panel. Don't know why that particular part took so much longer than the others, but that definitely slowed things down.
  16. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

Yes, new rear quarter panel (that's the part that took the longest), new rear bumper, new lower portion of rear lift gate, and associated sensors, etc. were the bulk of the parts
  17. I bought 4 more R1Ts today

I luckily found 2 at a Family Dollar today - leaving them in the abyss of my center console to leave on an unsuspecting R1T if I run into a parked one in the wild. Will be sure to cause a riot on your GearGuard :)
  18. My collision repair experience (TLDR: it wasn’t quick, but ~4 months later, I have my R1S back!)

Sharing this as I hope it is helpful to others who end up in the unfortunate position of needing to send their R1 in for body work at some point…. Sorry, brevity is not my forte, but I assure you I tried my best…. Read my original post for a few additional details on the collision and the “you...
  19. Wrist Band

I got a wrist band when I took delivery - I guess that has changed? Honestly I've never even tried it -- guess I should give it a go. Would love it if there is a way to turn it into an apple watch band....
  20. Dead pedal extension mod DIY

This is the first time I ever even knew what that was called or noticed it was there LOL (I guess I'm so short it wouldn't help me in ANY car!)
