IMO pre conditioning the battery is more about getting the most range when setting off. I don't know if I'd bother on short trips.. but maybe I'm wrong.
Considering the temps, I'm not sure the R1T would have faired much better (Dual motor 20" AT). The big issue is the hype around it. Every cybertruck forum stating this thing is going to be MILES AHEAD in efficiency. Although it's hard to tell tesla fanboys from bots these days.
What blows my mind about these requests... we are witnessing a HUGE update to actual vehicle livability and functionality but somehow streaming videos is the more important. I genuinely don't understand.
Not to mention they probably already have this feature complete but are waiting on people...
I'm not interested unless it mounts directly to the existing mounting points.
The truth is, many dealer accessories are made 2 streets away from each other in China, and are then marked up appropriately. What you pay for is fitment.
If they used the correct mounting points it MIGHT be worth it...
Honestly, I really like it. The interior looks GREAT imo. If they can pull off 300+ miles of range at the 80k benchmark... man.. it's going to be a hit.
As with OP, I'm on month 7 of my repair. I keep checking the app weekly and when it gets low I give them a message to put it on a charger before it gets to 0%. Vampire drain is huge since they leave the car unlocked and a lot of the telemetry stuff stays on so it loses like 1-3% a day.

Don't use typical WD-40... get the silicone lubricant. Several brands out there.

I really don't want to spend ~3-4k on a roof top tent that would be difficult to install by myself and I'd only use a few times a year. Has anyone tried a bed tent like this...
You will probably get access to the R1 shop before then. I'd get another vehicle if you have to and stick it out unless you're dead set on your exact config.
I think it looks great. Hopefully it doesn't get any bigger.. the tacoma is already a good size. The Tacoma EV is less exciting. They'll absolutely half ass it like they did the BZ4X.
Rivian should have started with dual motor out of the gate, because people now expect an 835hp truck. There's really no need. Dual motor would have been more than enough for most people, and at that price point I think it's worth it.
Really love throttle house. I thought the review was fair. I'm more of an SUV guy and the R1S would have likely been a better fit for the family, but they're right that the R1T simply revolutionized pickups. The gear tunnel is awesome and I really makes me not miss the cargo space having a large...
Yet another piece of anecdotal advice, but I mentioned this to the service tech in ATL and he mentioned it was fine doing it at speed. Just to be careful I've only done it entering a freeway.
