I was expecting a third party solution to materialize to fill this gap with Rivian (as it did for Tesla) sooner or later, and wishing you the best of luck in getting it finalized and to market.
Greetings my fellow Rivianauts.
I’ve come to enjoy Apple Music since it was mostly fixed in the more recent OTA updates. I find the sound quality really excellent and in general like my Apple Music subscription more so than some others.
At any rate, over the last couple weeks or so I’ve...
There's no "victim" here. Sheesh. He bought a car with X features and wants one with X+Y features, when he knew or should have known it had X features. It's not at all analogous to wearing a short skirt to a pool hall or walking down a seedy alley alone at night and borrowing that rhetoric is...
This 115/116 debate has been taken up in a few prior threads. I went with the 115s bc they are acceptable by the numbers and indeed the R1S came with them in 2022, despite the extra cushion built into the federal regs for towing vehicles (which bumps up to the 116). It’s hard to see how the...
Anyone know or reasonably able to surmise off-hand what engineering compromises made Rivian design the underbody lift points in this way? Is it the cost of having the battery and underbody shielding in place? Seems like an unforced error if there wasn't something necessitating this unique...
The nav has improved a lot since the early days.
Rivian leadership has repeatedly stated in multiple public venues and fora that are readily accessible that Rivian will not ever include CarPlay. The reasons and the counters are not all that compelling either way depending on your biases but...
I’ve got the Michelin Defenders on my Gen1 R1S quad with 22s (I got the 115 load rating versions which are lighter weight than 116) and have put about 7k miles on them now. My stats:
range: almost identical to oem pirellis (2.14 mi/kwh vs 2.17 with the oem)
Smoothness: way better. More supple...
Based on a couple of responses I saw in the Discord thread concerning Rivian, it sounds like the version they've got working in a Rivian is relying on the unit's own sensors for now, not the full slate of Gen1 sensors and cameras. But it could well be I misunderstood what they were saying, as...
Laughter might have to do with how often/immediately it is raised, and how often it has been unconditionally stated by Rivian's powers that be that CarPlay will not ever happen, full stop.
So, some questions for you:
1. Did you precondition? [If not, you'll experience lower performance]
2. Did you charge on a shared line? [If so, you'll experience much lower performance]
3. What was your SOC when you began your charge? [The higher your SOC the slower it charges]
The road feel on my Gen1 with 22" wheels noticeably improved when I switched from the stock Pirelli Scorpions to Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2. I might have lost a bit of traction and maybe 0.15 in overall efficiency (previously avg. 2.27 --> now averaging 2.14 for last 3000 miles), but it's...
Always seemed to me that Elon's idea that if human vision is adequate for human drivers, FSD shouldn't need other sensor systems, was pretty faulty logic. But I'm no engineer, just a regular human reasoning with human brain parts.
Totally unacceptable for sure and don't blame you for exiting the game and taking back your ante. Hope you can find something else to spend that coin on that's equally cool and fun to drive.
That said, the fact you got two sub-par vehicles is hardly an adequate basis to conclude that everyone...
FWIW I just did a similar trip last weekend (non-holiday): AUS-->Tulsa (Fri), Tulsa-->Little Rock (Sat), and Little Rock-->AUS (Sun). 1250 miles, with 6 Tesla superchargers (Red Oak, Denison, Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, Ozark, New Boston, Waxahachie) and 1 EVgo charger (Benton). No problems...
I’m sure this is well known by now, I haven’t read the thread, but confirming this update has fixed my Apple Music bug that I picked up in the .35 update.
Pretty pleased with that.
I did at about 77mph. Had them rebalanced and it took care of most of the feedback I was getting. Might be some slight residual vibration still but hardly noticeable now.
I had a mobile tech at my place today specifically to address my version of the Apple Music bug. He was unable to fix it but assured me it was supposed to be resolved in the OTA when .43 rolls out. That'll be nice if so, but I'm not holding my breath.
