I wouldn't be overly concerned if you were to get a quality one from like A2Z or Lectron. I wouldn't go with a no name cheap one off Amazon or something like that. Looks like there are also some OEM Rivian ones on eBay for around $150.
I'm sure you already know, but you'll need a separate...
Glad it sounds like it's a solid truck! My R1T is a 5### VIN and still has the original PTC. I don't do anything, but try to keep the tracks clear of stuff like leaves or pine needles. I got about a year and a half left on the 5 year/60k warranty. I secretly hope the cover fails at some point...
The first thing you'll want to consider is rather you want a hardwired EVSE or one that uses something like a NEMA 14-50 receptacle. Hardwired is generally considered better since it's one less failure point. If you do go with a NEMA 14-50, I would get one that is specifically designed for the...
It seems to be very much service center dependent. I understand wanting to remove any of the previous owner's information, but they should make it to where you can see see the service history.
Thanks. While I like the smaller form factor of the 4, I just can't justify the added expense to go from 3x to 4. I haven't run into any thermal issues myself. If I do, an upgrade may then be justified.
Is it worth upgrading from a 3x to a 4 at this point? I haven't looked into the 4, but I'm assuming it has more processing power and is more than just a smaller form factor. I'm assuming in the future there may be functionality that the 4 will get the that 3x will not due to hardware differences.
Thanks! It's definitely a hard one to pin point since it could easily be coming multiple points up through the steering column or pedals. I got an appointment Wednesday to have the SC take a look and see if they can pinpoint the cause.
To my knowledge Rivian won't release service records from a previous owner. It may be service center dependent, but mine wouldn't release them even after purchase.
I agree, many of these items are likely not needed, but if a number of them are missing, you may be able to negotiate a discount. I've seen some used ones where the previous owner basically stripped everything not bolted down to I presume sell on eBay. Ultimately the OP has to figure out what's...
Fed-Ex isn't much better. They backed into our house and it took weeks to finally get through to the right person/department, then on top of that it took months to resolve.
Has anyone ran into a metallic rattle from the front drivers side? This happens intermittently between 45 and 55 MPH, usually while slowing. I've pressed on speaker grills, checked for any loose screws, or anything in any of the pockets.
It's driving me nuts!
Beyond typical inspection for damage/tires, etc, below are some things I would check.
Verify if accessories are provided, such as camp speaker, mobile charger, gear guard cable, air compressor hose kit, flash light, spare tire and change kit, et. You may or may not care about these, but may be...
I have a 3X with long upgrade in the Atlanta, GA area.
As far as the Kyle (Out of Spec) failure, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't take the time to do the widely recommended practice of separating the power for the Comma from the AXM power. I get trying with the standard Comma harness...
