I have a mobile tech here on some other minor trim fixes, he took one look at the dent and said, "I know exactly how that happened". Apparently, this same dent has occurred on multiple front door thresholds. It was caused but the seat installer being set too low and colliding with the...
I beg to differ: my cars are ceramic coated, washed with filtered water, foam cannon and dried with an electric leaf blower. Works really well and gets water out from wheel nuts, front air intake, light lenses, etc
I’m going through the same decision. Got the front ppf and the ceramic on the R1T. We have nasty winters in Michigan with buckets of salt on the roads. I’m going to get an unlimited pass for the winter, washing it at least once a week. Come spring I’ll decide if I want to hand wash it — this...
Most new cars have orange peel and many acquire swirl marks from lack of care during PDI. I do a medium paint correction (Merzerna Medium Cut 2500) on every new car, get the front PPF’d, then I apply Adams Advanced Graphene Ceramic coating. Makes it really easy to just hose off the sand and...
This is likely a way to use up the inventory of Explore trim pieces just with the dash wrapped. Also provides a little of the original light wood feeling. That said, I’m really happy with my FE interior.
it’s a 2014 Diesel with the stage 2 Malone tune (500 ft/lbs almost from idle). I factory ordered it as the ultimate long distance all weather vehicle (about $40k of options/Porsche accessories). It’s now at 138k miles, does 700 highway miles on a tank returning mid 30s mpg. For me it’s been...
Rivian have been very responsive, and are trying hard. I’m going with my service rep to the local Rivian authorized body shop to see what they say. I don’t want to push the car back at them over this, hopefully it can be made right with PDR, failing that I don’t want major surgery on the truck...
The paint is perfect at and around the site of the dent: no scuffing, no paint/color from the object which struck it. I believe that the virgin panel (or unpainted assembled body) was dented prior to the paint shop, and not picked up by QA or PDI inspections. I really don’t want a partial...
I hand washed the truck this morning to prep for some mild paint correction before ppf on Monday. Discovered a substantial dent on the threshold to the front passenger door. Sent the photos to my guide. What would you do?
Yes it has full leather, when you select that potion they use a higher grade leather for all of the trim. The difference is very noticeable. I agree the base leather trim is very close to Rivian quality.
The Cayenne is Jet Green, I waited 6 months for it to be built – seemed like an eternity, but now I know better. I'm happy that FG is somewhere between Jet Green and Launch Green, I think it suits the R1T better than Jet Green would. I was worried that they would be too similar.
Standard height...
After much waiting, and a false alert where tragically my assigned VIN (102xx) was sent several states away, I finally picked up my second assigned VIN (108xx) R1T from the Michigan SC (which was the original Rivian HQ) yesterday. Truck has 72 miles at delivery, so clearly was used for...

50’ basement run of 4 AWG (which despite the instruction fits fine into the Rivian charger terminals). This will let me run 85A if I want to upgrade later without having to pull new wire.
