Key word here is ECU. That is all I stated. Power feed for lights and other devices that do not pull power from the ECU are ran differently without redundancy. But I didn’t speak to that.
You can check my credentials if you like. I was an electronics engineer for Rivian for over three years. My role was to specific test and validate all of the ECUs on both the R1T and the R1S. I have intimate and comprehensive understanding of the ECU functions and circuitry, including power...
If your R1 has two batteries, one is the main battery, vbatt1, and the other is a back up, vbatt2. All of the ECU are powered by vbatt1, and some specific ECU are connected to vbatt2 and will switch if the voltage drops on vbatt1.
Any one pushes their R1 hard enough that they require rock sliders? I’m pretty picky on the gear I choose on any of my rigs and having a kick out was on my top must haves when it comes to rock sliders. The Megawatt Rick Sliders by @electruck4x4 were easier to install than the sliders on my...
Thanks for the support!
I believe the winch and other adventure products got out on the shelf to focus on current builds and getting R1T’s out the door.
It was pretty sweet as the winch drew power straight from the battery pack. You could control it from the steering wheel, center display...
You and me buddy. I got a chance to use the Rivian version a year ago when it was in development. Winch controls was pretty cool to use cause it was integrated into the vehicle controls.
Driver+ is not affected, the only draw back is the blockage of the rear camera and the rear sensors warning you while in reverse.
To counter the camera, I purchase a wireless camera system that also records. The video is transmitted to the screen that is provided with decent quality.

AJ and Harry, over at Dirtcom, released their latest Trail swing design for the Rivian R1T and R1S. My review can be found here:
Dirtcom Trail Swing review for the Rivian R1T - S2E1
I met with AJ in SoCal and an engineer to engineer discussion on the design aspects of their latest Trail...
Thanks for the response and support. $5k is on the high side. Right now labor is lengthy, but I’m hoping on the next revision I can streamline it to make it as efficient as possible with room for add on’s. That should help keep the price low for the base setup, with flexibility.
Thanks for the feedback. At the moment, I decided to push for the 2nd rev of my module design. My goal is to gain more usable space, improve the looks and quality, and improve the materials used. In turn, this should allow me additional room to design the third space.
Hello everyone. First time posting on Rivian Forums. I’m looking for feed back on my Pull Out Kitchen I made for my Rivian R1T.
All I for can be found on my YouTube video under EVLander

Looks like a few pics of my camp kitchen leaked out, lol
If you guys are interested in my build, I will be posting a video on it soon, along with more product reviews and maybe a 1 year review as well.
