A semi bearing 20k # on the front axle doesn't exactly qualify as the "non-commercial ICE traffic" of which he spoke and to which I replied., and a 3/4 ton pickup (or even a 1 ton) is nowhere near an "ultra-heavy" vehicle. MY POINT being, that ICE pickups abound that are equal or greater in...
Even that is not accurate. Unlike some northeastern state where any pickup truck is considered to be "commercial (and plated as such)", there are PLENTY of 3/4 ton pickups around Texas that are not "commercial"...the GVWR of a Rivian R1T is 8,532 lbs and that of a 3/4 ton "ICE" pickup is 8501 to...
All of the gripes and complaints I see here and on the troll-filled forums on FB, here's what happened to me.
I don't drive my R1T all day (or even every day). I did happen to drive it this morning. All was well.
I came home, parked it in the garage, and plugged it in.
Apparently, subsequent...
What is the point of your pontification? Nobody who has posted on this has said anything inconsistent with "the facts" as you present them. Have we uncovered a "closet fact checker here"?
:)
[Edit note: The poster to whom I replied "edited in" bullet point #3 and all subsequent commentary...
In Texas ...the answer is "it depends".
There are all manner of distribution charges, availablity charges and other junk fees added to your electric bill, but...if you are a residential consumer, no sales tax. If your charging is done at your commercial establishment, then you are paying 6.25%...
Having lived in and around San Antonio since 1977, I can assure you that "paradise" (where a parking space is concerned) anywhere around here would include a roof of some sort (trees as shade suck because of the grackle population). A 125 degree cabin temp after a day in the sun in summer is...
My Texas EV surcharge is $200/year. That would be the gas tax collected on 520.83 gallons of gasoline (or 450.45 gallons of diesel). I just ticked over 19,000 miles on my R1T (having had it for 2 years in early November). I'm definitely paying "more than my fair share" toward the things that...
That one is exactly what it SAYS that it is...a brush guard. Cantilivered off of the tow hooks and certain to collapse into the front end upon contact with anything heavier than light brush. For $1,700, that's a "no" for me
I can't do this because I can't find the one door that keeps popping up.
I have six doors and a gate programmed in, two of the doors and the gate were set for proximity and all was working fine.
Now, one of the last two doors that I programmed in (which was set on proximity) pops up randomly...
Maybe, for those who use a valet regularly...one of those suitcase label hangers for the key card that they can hang on their key rack. I don't know if the Riv would read the card while inside it, but it might be worth a shot. I wouldn't buy one of those "heavy duty" ones made out of conveyor...
Because misinformation abounds.
For example: Split-wiring a receptacle is done all the time in order to "switch" one part while leaving the other "hot". You do this by breaking off a tab and running feeds to each "end". Technically, these could be two different circuits that were opposite...
Y'all BOTH missed the joke (the smiley face should have tipped you off). I was talking about plugging the Rivian's charger into that plug so that it could charge its own batteries from its battery...SHEESH!:CWL::CWL:
I have had this issue off and on for quite a while (well before the Halloween updates) This is how I fixed it, but I only had to do it on the one door that wasn't showing up. I attributed it to having six different doors and an electric gate programmed in...all but two on proximity.
Statistically speaking, you're probably less likely to get door-dinged when parking next to another Rivian. For my part, I tend to park 3 rows past where there are any other cars in places where this is possible (but I never take up more than one space...that's a BMW/Corvette-Douche move).
Not valet but...
First trip to Discount Tire in Kerrville (for a rotation), none of the "bay crew" would touch it. They asked me (very nicely) if I would mind pulling it in. I did, and put it in tire change mode. All went well.
Second trip I went to their Boerne store. Kid was like "We got...
If they would only put in a program to make it go off about every 3 minutes for 30 minutes before sundown. That would likely run off the other birds that are (no doubt) pooping on the T-Bird in the driveway.
Note that truck was locked during above stop. Brought it home, parked it unlocked. Went in the house. Came back out later and it was moaning and howling and the screens were on and the cabin temp was 53...garage temp 78.
It did it again. After switching briefly to K.I.T.T. I went back to Trunk or Treat (where the weirdness first began). I parked outside the cafe for breakfast and was inside for under a half hour. When I came out, I had the expected screens and...the A/C (still set to 65) was running hard and the...
This 2024.39.01 update has been installed for a couple of days and I turned on costumes be so far hadn't actually seen anything.
I keep the truck charged to 75% and pretty much plug in every time I'm out of it (my roundtrips to town are a minimum of 12 miles, sometimes 100).
Yesterday, I only...
