Definitely get the fob. It is the only "key" that works if the bluetooth module in the driver door handle goes out (yes, that is where that it). If goes out, can't unlock door with card, can't hold car up to interior of door to start, and can't use phone at all to start the car. That happened...
Unfortunately this is the norm right now, some due to just fleet # versus SCs out there, and a lot of it due to quality of delivery/trucks coming off the line. I've owned since May, and still don't have a perfect truck from delivery - been in shop 1+ months, getting things fixed via mobile...
One other negative mobile service issues I ran into was my mobile service tech called in sick for the day we were last scheduled. All of us he was coming out to got cancelled. Got schedule a ways out again after that another few weeks, kind of puts those appointments at risk versus a SC with...
Part of their issue is bad processes and incompetence somewhat. I'd never have another mainstream dealer doing what they did.
Note, initially I was told this would take 1 day.
They took my truck, it sat in a hot lot for a couple. It went to a 3rd party for a fix, but 3rd party then could do...
Feel ya. I took delivery with messed up trim and a dent in a door.
Trim got fixed by mobile ~1 month later. They scratched another interior pieces though.
Dent go into the SC 2 months later, it sat for 2 weeks, then a 3rd party body shop literally replaced the entire door, painted, etc. fixing...
Just know that if you get Starlink RV/remote plan you get less priority of data, can be slow at times, especially peak - hard to work with video, etc. Our neighbors use that and we have the Residential (permanent location) plan and ours is way faster. Like we tested at 80mbps+ and they were...
Wire for as high as possible the drop whatever ya want. We are wired from breaker with wire that supports 100amps even, but have 50 amp breakers, and dropped a NEMA 14-50 outlet for now on two chargers. Wiring is the one thing hard to replace in future.
I have a Juicebox 40 plugged in for now...
1. Gate opening support
2. Navigation updates/fixed, new maps, streets, etc.
3. SiriusXM app
4. Text message support, good
Others but that's enough for now...
I dunno, I like Sirius as the app/online service. Have it and use that the most, versus the actual satellite service we get that due to in our F150. Only place can listen to good talk, Fox News Business, stations like that live.
Texting yeah, hate waiting until get somewhere at times and need...
Yeah, maps needs to get updated soon, nav functionality. It's really bad, especially here in TX where its a growing fast state. Maybe its ok in a stale state like CA/IL/NY or so.
Our neighborhood has been up for 5 years, house for a couple, and our street isn't even on maps yet for...
You only get notified to be do the update after your truck has downloaded it fully. So it's all processing that takes place during an update, speed of connection doesn't matter at that point.
Looks cool if Fisker survives long-term. They definitely have a lot to work to do as that thing was really pieced together as a prototype for now. That midgate in photos looks awful in that version, those carpeted seatbacks, all crooked but boxed together lines, and no actual midgate installed...
Could that be a case where it didn't have a GPS sat signal, and instead utilized the wifi location overall of your house? Will probably back out and set it in driveway here before garage to see if refines it a bit.
I'd probably set the GPS location to where you issue the commands within range. Id assume they will just add auto open based on gps in future so that will allow that to work.
