I took the same approach (changing wheels to 21" as well as changing my interior color) in the hopes of being assigned a guide and the option to shop the shop earlier. Glad to hear it worked for you, especially since you're only about a month ahead of me from a reservation perspective. Who...
While I am always saddened to hear about layoffs, the one person I hope they lay off is the person whose job it is to sit around and figure out how to inflict maximum pain on us poor forum folk.
Here we are hanging on every word and move they make, trying to bring some logic & understanding...
This! Exactly. You're a few months ahead of me and I share the frustration as someone who has observed the same thing. Obviously there are a lot of factors at play that I don't have any insight into, but as we've pointed out so many times, without better guidance from Rivian, this leaves us...
One of the things that I've been watching is how many folks who placed their reservations after me have already had guides assigned. Then I see folks who are still waiting for a guide who reserved way before I did and it - sadly - makes me feel better.
Adding it to the list! Not too far a drive for me from Orange County. I'm collecting as many places as possible for my scrapbook of places to visit. Thank you!
As a non-Tesla owner, I appreciate hearing/learning about the pros and cons of the Rivian vs. a Tesla, where Rivian still has work to do ("potential" shall we say), and where they've nailed it.
I saw a Midnight R1T come flying past me yesterday while walking my dog and baby stroller, doing...
I agree - I like his videos and at least we'll get more videos while I wait. If anyone was to get one, I'm glad he got one.
For me, the question is how often this happens, where some are more equal than others? I know Jerry Rig Everything ordered his back in 1996 so he followed the regular...
I'm very curious to see how (or perhaps more appropriately, IF) scenarios such as mine will be accounted for:
I originally placed a reservation for an R1T with a Max Pack in late 2020
In Dec 2021 I was told "1st Half 2023" (which of course, due to the Max Pack, means no earlier than 1H2023)
A...
I'm digging the black mirror touch. I've been thinking about doing the same (glossy black) to match the detail of the trim around the windows. We have a current car that has that same look - albeit factory default - and it looks surprisingly good. Hopefully a few others will do the same thing...
I'd love to see some pictures of it when you get it. I hadn't been considering red until some recent pictures got me thinking "maybe I should consider that instead". One of the many benefits of ordering a Max pack is that I get to be undecided for quite a lot longer... this is how I make...
To current Rivian owners who have the app paired, is there a way to enter a destination on the phone and have the car navigation take on that location?
As a CarPlay user, one of the benefits I enjoy is being able to type in/search for/ select the destination from my phone. Then have that show...
Say you made something capable enough for a Rivian without saying Rivian:
"Specifications robust enough for a 4WD performance vehicle reaching 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, off-roading, and towing capability of up to 11,000 pounds."
Congratulations! While I wish I was getting mine today, I do take pleasure in the collective Rivian community receiving their trucks -- it's been a long time in the making.
Did you order any extras with the truck? E.g., tent, kitchen, wall charger. I've probably missed it with posts on other...
Near the end of the video he's at 2.82 average kWh. I think the downhill hypothesis makes sense. Also, given that he's been cruising around 35-48mph (I think that was the highest speed he hit), maintaining that distance using electronics instead of feet jumping between gas/brake pedal, this is...
I agree. Speaking for my internal combustion engine-powered car, it gets extremely varied mileage / range based on my driving. Sometimes it matches the EPA ratings, sometimes I get much less. This is how driving works; it's not unique to EVs
Haha they'll be worth much less then! Look at the facts: companies that make a lot of cars aren't worth a lot. Companies that don't make a lot of cars (*cough*Tesla*cough*Rivian) are worth a lot! The trick is sadly to not make more cars
"Acceleration is really good for this type of vehicle" Kyle says at 24:20 :CWL: Tough crowd. I thought 0-60 in 3ish seconds is really good for any type of vehicle
