You actually can! It will charge at 220v with any EVSE, it will just only charge at the same Kw rate as 110v (or whatever the equivalent rate at 220v would be).
Few more pictures:
And if you’re curious about the range it’s 145mi city, and 70 highway (95 combined). Not great, but also not really unusual for a motorcycle. There are bikes with much more range and level 2 charging… this one just spoke to me well and the dealer “network” is comfortably...
This is bike #8 for me, but my first electric bike.
Yes I ordered this before I found out about their SPAC investors backing out (whoops!)
I love it though, lack of level 2 charging is a bummer but it still picks up 12/13mi/hr at level one. I only ride occasionally and mostly short distances...
Truck is back in my possession. Rivian said the “failure” yesterday was a hydraulic leak in the rear of the truck. Brakes maybe??? I’m not sure. Either way it was related to some components they had to move or disassemble during the battery pack replacement process.
They addressed all of my...
I've been dealing with "my local ford dealer" for over a decade. Never had any issues with them, and they are on the "no ADM" list with Markups.org and the lightning forums.
Meanwhile my "Rivian Guide" has only ever contacted me once, and it took 3 escalation calls with Rivian Service to even...
Yeah I agree. I’m glad it didn’t leave their possession either. Because they get another chance to fix it, and because there is only about thirteen more days in their possession and I can reach out to a lemon lawyer.
Update:
Rivian supposedly ”finished” the truck today and we’re supposed to deliver it.
The driver called me this evening and told me that as soon as he left the shop some “alert” came up on the display so he just carried it right back to the shop.
The truck couldn’t even make it home from the...
I would stick with the frunk because you can dynamat it for sound insulation. The power tonneau panels don’t really have room but you could probably inject some foam into them.
Also people are less likely to notice sounds coming from the front of a “truck” as you pass by. Just tell them it’s a...
Truck is awake. I’m guessing the new battery is physically installed now and they are trying to sync up the software versions between the battery and the truck. Looks like they are having a hard time with it.
Yeah it’s just a generalized quote.
Mine’s in the shop right now and it says “Remove and Replace Hydraulic Suspension” but it’s just so they can grease the axle bolt for the tocking sound.
Update: Finally heard back from Rivian today -- it took some escalation to get their service center to finally reach out (I don't understand why.).
So the truck was placed on a "parts hold" as they ordered an entire new HV battery pack. Apparently the battery came in today and the technician...
My R1T broke down at 800 miles and has been in the shop for a week with a high voltage battery failure. Honestly I’m not sure if I could trust it on any “adventure” at this point.
If I ever get it back from the non-responsive service center in Dallas, it’s going to take a while to earn that trust.
