  1. R1S - Quad to Dual Conversion

I think there is a ~400 lbs difference and no discernible performance improvement, correct? Why give up any pricing advantage? I love my R1T, in five years if they pivot to dual I’ll have gem
  2. Tesla Cybertruck Went From Exoskeleton Marvel to Unibody Honda Ridgeline Competitor

Read the article and agree. “Nothing to see over here…” You can only hope the US government keeps him from pulling this shit with SpaceX.
  3. I added CarPlay to my R1T

Nothing Burger. Rivian integrates with Apple Music from my phone well enough and they are improving their navigation. Sorry. But love the mount and application for a overloading navigation application is great - stable and accessible.
  4. Updated Powered Tonneau & Manual Tonneau Bed Covers Coming Mid-Summer! RJ Shows Off in First-Look Video

Bravo! Nice case, nice inter-locking and easy! I'm glad I pre-ordered it for $800 - can't wait till I get it. But wow! the automatic one it looked/sounded great.
  5. New aftermarket (manual) Tonneau Cover for Rivian R1T

Great question. The first observation I had, and why I'm holding out for the Rivian cover. I just installed the Builtright panels and they are great for strapping things in place. Love them.
  6. Softopper bed cap for R1T?

I reached out to them (softtopper) in Nov/December and they said no, but maybe they are getting a lot of interest. I hope their solution isn't sourced from the same expensive zip code other providers are sourcing from! I have the manual tonneau on order, but I prefer the softopper. - it is...
  7. So my R1T was keyed on Monday night... and I got it on Gear Guard

He's on his way to his crash pad under the freeway, looking for his Thermus. People suck. I'm going to build an underground bunker in the bed of my truck.
  8. 2022 vs 2023 Tax credit…Again

Oh sorry, I guess I read too much into it. I just thought if people are dropping $80K cash getting the credit would be important. Again, don't mean to tread on anyone. Ignore my comments/apology if it's not received correctly.
  9. 2022 vs 2023 Tax credit…Again

Think Cash. When does the cash go out the door - I remember this on my CPA exam - converting GAAP accrual income/expenses to tax basis. I didn't practice tax, but conventional wisdom is the year you took possession and paid the cash. You have a binding agreement in 2022, but you still can...
  10. Official Rivian Email: A Look Ahead to 2023. Rivian Membership cancelled and unbundled into subscription services

My experience with my Tesla was when my year subscription ended, I wasn't able to stream music from their native apps and the traffic conditions during navigation went away. Otherwise, the navigation, charging station information continued. I fully expect Alexa to continue.
  11. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Tire Size Administration - Ability to change tire size between my All Seasons and All Terrains. I'm buying AT's in the coming weeks, and I'm dreading the "We will get back to you" customer services to make these changes.
  12. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Alexa Bad! ? - Improved integration with iOS (or Android) - Alexa was a really bad choice. I understand the Amazon influence but they are way over their tips on this one. I want to play music, I want to text and I want real directions (crazy responses when you type locations). Too much Amazon...
  13. Bed Rails

Saw seperate posts on the L-Track and fasteners built into the bed floor. The L-Track built in using the M6 bolts holding the plastic bed liner. I like this idea, just wish it was a bit lower to be more versatile. I may consider doing this because you are not altering the truck, and you can...
  14. Rich Rebuilds picks up his R1T and goes to confront the dealer who tried to rip him off…

wasting time in an airport hotel at CDG (laid over) and actually watched the whole video. Never heard of this guy, but he was very entertaining. I’m on the west coast with a Tesla. His comments about how easy the Tesla is so true. I have no concerns about long trips in California with my Y. But...
  15. Upfitter switches

Would seem there is a solution by now... Anything learned since the last dialogue?
  16. Interior passenger-side fuse box

Can you help with where the pass through is? I'm assuming this is for the coax cable? What is your hesitation tapping into the 12v plug with an anderson adapter? It's putting out enough voltage ~13.6v and with the 15 amps don't you think it would make it easier (and portable)? Really...
