About right on the time (recently had my Mach-E out for a contactor) but I would hate to be the person paying Rivian for the new battery. Hopefully it has a high core value when you return the old one so you arenât bankrupted.
That would be one pricey module.
I mentioned the security aspect in my first post and while nothing is 100% secure, I doubt the effort can pay off unless you just want to brick vehicles. While Ford does have settings that can be changed via the scan tool port, Rivian is much less accommodating...
You and I might be the rare ones.
It isnât you donât want to learn new things but the cost of the tools or time invested becomes problematic. I have an iPhone app that milks the Rivian API for everything it has but I canât afford the time to hang with the brave souls tapping into various CAN...
Thank you for proving my point. i added a modern ECU to my 1983 Honda CB1100F so now I have a 3D advance map, rev limiter, and quick shifting but these technologies lost some that canât manage the additional complexities of programming the devices.
While everyone was managing just fine dealing...
My R1S came with a compact spare and I wonder what the spare tire compartment looks like without a spare? Pulled the tire out and I see the threaded stem base bolted in, just remove it and put the bolts back in for safe keeping?
Any one with a pic of the lower compartment?
There are legions of pro and self-taught mechanics that can rebuild a carburetor or add a big bore kit to increase HP.
But the modern electronics, software, security measures and the unfamiliarity with electric powertrains, means the next generation of modders will likely be smaller that the...
Lemon law return seems a bit extreme, in NY you might qualify since it ,use only be defective but there additional caveats like it must substantially lower the value to you.
I would take it to an after-market car stereo installer and have them fix it. Then try to send the bill to Rivian for...
If true they won, hands down, they should be commended for their efficiency.
Obviously feeding the troll, if that is what they really are, gives many such great satisfaction, hence the 100+ replies.
I was nodding my head in agreement until the very end. Wouldnât the bad batch of heat pumps be caused by Tommyâs cousin Timmy installing the heat pump reversing valve backwards? Neither error is excusable and both should be a cause for rage.
Donât let Timmy off the hook.
Interesting theory but my common sense guess is that a shorted element would trip the breaker and an open element would just increase the recovery time but not the energy consumed. And something in between just doesnât seem a likely failure mode.
Perhaps your âshit onâ is my âengagingâ. I donât post much but the day my R1S is a total disappointment I will unload on Rivian here. Reading your litany of ownership issues I have to assume your middle name is Job or you have the patience of a saint.
I sure Rivian corporate would not agree...
I expect the OP to post like that, it has never happened to me in any vehicle and if I were me I would be livid, if you havenât been in the OP shoes then perhaps you canât really be a fair judge.
I much more prefer the âsorry that happened to you, hope the SC figures it outâ posts. It is not...
Why? Is that part of the Adventurous Forever program? It isnât like Rivian has a litmus test for owners.
I think the OP has every right to be unhappy, maybe I am just a softie.
A comparison of an all electric house kept at 74° with three EVs charging for July (perhaps a slightly cooler location) with total consumption of 2075kWh:
Use is dominated by charging and HVAC, I doubt you have a charging problem but your AC usage is likely the culprit. Canât help if it is...
While waiting for the appearance of rudimentary messaging to be integrated, we are missing out on working voice assistants and the newer technologies like AI assistants that are making their way to phones.
I fear Rivian will be forever trying to catch up, my long gone 2019 Tesla M3 was much...
That would be anyoneâs guess, I donât think Rivian will be saying anything. In gen1 the motors are used to warm the batteries, unsure if the heat pump is cabin only or helps with the batteries.
I never saw my battery temp dip below 32°F last winter, either Rivian was heating it or they just...
