  1. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

I've dropped my camper a few times where they have chargers at a rest stop where I'd be sticking out in the parking lot blocking other cars. It's a pain and adds 5-10 minutes to the charge time.
  2. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

My bad. The towing specs numbers. "Limitations to this vary based on the type of hitch used. A weight distributing hitch is required to tow these weights. Without a weight distributing hitch, the towing limit for R1T and R1S is 5,000 lb (2267 kg)."
  3. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

They have a distributor in Durango, Colorado, Four Corners RV. When we were looking they said they had some coming in in about 6 months but if we wanted to customize it was about a year.
  4. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

The Rivian towing specs specifically say you need to have a weight distribution/stabilizer to achieve those numbers.
  5. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

Yes, Equal-i-zer. It's a touch high in front, need to adjust it a bit. Tows great.
  6. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

I owned the original BC, bought it used at a good price during the great recession. Every gas stop or campground someone would want to look at it, it was really unusual at the time. Fit my lifestyle as I was divorced at the time, camping, star parties, etc. Sold it 10 years later before the BC2...
  7. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

300 miles with a mixture of the Pirellis, Nokian Snows and the Toyo ATs. Mostly 1 and 2 lane state roads so probably average of about 60 mph. It's a great little camper the only drawback being the small bed where one person needs to climb over the other to get in and out. We'd like to move up...
  8. What do you use your R1T bed for? (Picture Edition)

Yeah, it's Grandma! Just a fridge we're bringing to our mountain yurt where we also park our camper for the summer.
  9. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

2013 '16 Airstream "Bambi". Getting an average of 1.4 mi/kWh over 300 miles, mostly back and forth to the Colorado mountains from Denver. Tows like a dream, hardly even notice it's there.
  10. Ultimate RAN Stations Thread List (Wiki) -- locations, reviews, quirks, tips, etc.

Is there a way to recommend or request RAN locations to Rivian? Fairplay CO is a pretty major mountain travel junction and it only has two ChargePoint chargers which are almost always in use and often one is out of order. I have a feeling this summer there's going to be long lines.
  11. Gear Tunnel Confessionals

Gear tunnel fans but we're empty nesters so mostly just the two of us and the pooch. We've had adults in the back for short trips and never had any complaints. We use the tunnel a lot. I've got this as a slide out for regular gear like tie-downs, tools, etc. Fits nicely, but I'd like firmer...
  12. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Ability to "wink" one headlight on and off when greeting another Rivian [- 0] ;) As many have said: Alexa integration with all of the music apps Alexa hands-free texting Siri integration with the phone app, i.e. "Siri, warm up the Rivian", "Siri, open the frunk"
  13. My frunk storage solution: Trunk Commanders

    Two won't fit in the Gen2 R1T frunk :(
  14. Anyone finished a lease with their R1 yet?

Yeah, I used to lease Audis and they usually started calling to get me into a new car about 3 months before the lease ends. I assume Rivian will assess the market for their leased vehicles and make buy-out or trade-in offers. I'm 6 months in on my '25 RiT 36mo lease, so a ways to go. I'll be...
  15. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country A/T III EV 275/65/20 116H tires review

The Toyo 275/65R20 116H were showing backorder at TR so ordered at DT. They called and said they were on backorder for a couple of weeks but then they came in two days later and I got them installed yesterday. Look great. Driving to the mountains tomorrow will take some pics and give initial...
  16. My frunk storage solution: Trunk Commanders

I just ordered a couple of these for my R1T frunk. Most of my use for the frunk is groceries or food for trips so these should work great. There 20% off if you sign up for text alerts (hate it but can opt out after the purchase) and an additional 2% cash back on rakuten.com.
  17. Amazing solo camping trip turned into self recovery, body damage, and a week long ordeal to get it all fixed

Wow, that's crazy, glad you made it out ok. This is a good reminder of why you should always wear protective glasses and gloves when towing or winching. Regarding the front winch, as far as I know there is no simple option for attaching one. I keep my winch with a trailer hitch mount in my R1T...
  18. 20" Inch $370 - Open Country A/T III EV | 275/65R20 116H tires now available

I did find the Toyos at DT in the 116H, which is what I think I will go with...
  19. 20" Inch $370 - Open Country A/T III EV | 275/65R20 116H tires now available

OK, it's almost time for me to rotate out my Nokian snows for some 275/65R20 A/T tires for my Gen2 R1T All-Terrain Max (I sold my stock Pirellis in the fall knowing I would want a different tire this spring). There are about a dozen threads on tires! Occasional off-roading, lots of dirt and...
