I have a Fold 7 and the time the update came was the time I got my phone. I noticed that it is more sensitive. I am farther than usual and it unlocks the R1s.

Hello I am confused. I regularly have a single bike rack on my R1. I do not plug in anything. Are you saying your rivian notices that there is a bike rack even without something plugged in to the power? I do not have errors on mine, only when I back up. I can still do driver plus with the bike...

I think for our situation its the best option for now too.

Unfortunately I have not gone on a long road trip with this one. I would think it would be minimal. IF there was some form of significant range drop (which I doubt), what will be an option? Another rack? Yes the extra racks cost about the same as another 4 bike rack, maybe that can be an option.

Even though you know the route it is really better to use navigation when doing long trips. It "prepares" the vehicle" for fast charging which is like running a sprint, you'll need to warm up and stretch so you don't injure yourself. Even with the new update of manual preconditioning...

I think this is highly dependent on the Service center. Our service center in Miami is ok. I have read that other service centers charge for it to be removed. And this like this one they do not touch. Hopefully they make it universal rule that its ok.
