True, but not insurmountable. Just another data point: unit of measure: kW, $/min, etc. for the charging station/ports to make available via their API.
That said, about a year or so ago I read an article about a new regulation where public EV chargers would need to charge in units of kW...
It would seem Rivian is OK with their "communication style" as it gets you promoted.
"Other Rivian comms leaders include Amy Mast, who has been promoted from PR director to director of corporate comms."
Or unless that was Rivian's way of getting someone else in there to do a better job while...
That would not be a good sign, no doubt. FWIW, the software companies I've worked at, any specs I wrote up went to a dedicated technical documentation group, where as marketing either did their own copy proofing folks or did it themselves. I would have no problem trusting the doc/specs...

Of all Job Postings this is one of the more interesting ones in making me think some involvement with FEMA, Federal Government.
It might also have to do with Rivian proactively (required?) to register and educate fire departments and other first responder organizations on how to...
Ditto! Growing up in Chicago and delivering pizzas to help pay for college expenses, one learns to ALWAYS lock your car doors. Funny thing, I still subconsciously lock the car even when it's in the garage.
Good point. Could explain in the video why the handles remained protruded since, I...
That's another good scenario. Apply that scenario to my current SUV, if I remotely unlock the doors and don't enter it after a given amount of time it relocks the doors. Not a big deal (for me) to hit unlock again from the fob but I get your point with the whole family angle.
Couldn't agree...
In addition, IIRC reading some time ago VW only made the initial funding (whatever the penalty amount was) into EA and that EA would have to stand on it's own legs financially moving forward as an independent company.
Yes, I get that, but that's not the question at hand. It's when you don't lock the doors - how long do they stay protruded? It would seem reasonable to think at some point the handles would eventually retract after a period of time without locking the doors. Not a big deal, just an...
No, I do not. That's an incorrect assumption on your part. The car may be in my driveway or even in my garage. No need to lock the doors and have the door handles remain ejected. I'm just trying to understand the conditions of when this would occur. It very well could have been a timing...
Take a breath. There may be a reasonable explanation. First, not sure what designates these as "production" vehicles as Rivian won't be in production mode until June, possibly May at the earliest. Maybe these pics are of R1Ts allocated for crash tests, and if so, no need to "bling" them out.
Thanks, but I sure hope there is more to it than that.
So I unlock the doors, get in, and I do NOT lock the doors. While I'm sitting in the vehicle parked (like in the video) or may be I get back out and walk away without looking the doors, all the door handles stay ejected (waiting to hook...
Did anybody notice in the video that all four door handles on the R1T were ejected? I've been away from the forums for a while so this may be a dumb question but ... what's with that?

Just a note of caution. This spec sheet has been floating around the internet at least as far back when Rivian did their reveal in Nov 2018. As you can see the overall lengths are the old lengths. E.g. R1T overall length = 5475 mm = 215.55 in.
If you can't find the spec on Rivian's website...
Tom Moloughney, a plug-in vehicle specialist, recently reviewed the first generation JuiceBox (made by eMotorWorks at the time) to the 2nd generation JuiceBox recently released and made by Enel X. He reviewed the 40 amp model. When asked in the comments about the 48 amps he replied that there...
I probably should have made this clear, I was not implying EVs still don't have some challenges to overcome. Clearly there are differences between EVs and ICE vehicles, some of which EVs can and will improve upon and some that are just inherently different. Differences in any similar...
