Here's my understanding, but happy to hear other thoughts:
For V3 Superchargers, you typically park in the spot to the right of the spot the charger was intended for, otherwise the cord won't reach. Be prepared to politely defend your position against entitled and uninformed Tesla owners.
For...
I don't know how long the RCV pilot projects with AT&T (and others??) take, but announcing an actual purchase commitment from one of those players would be a nice catalyst for the stock. They need some good demand news, even if it's not R1 related.
I've been buying dips since March of last year. Still bullish long term, but I trimmed my position at 13.50 last week. I still think we might see single digits soon, but with the short % now over 20%, the stock price is like a coiled spring under pressure. If Rivian executes the Q2 shutdown...
I took delivery of a Launch Edition R1S in Nov. 2022 and it's been great. Have nearly 30,000 miles on it. Three issues that were fixed early on at the service center, none of which I consider major:
Replacement of front driver and passenger side rubber window trim (because one of the windows...
Even when Normal is cranking at full volume of 215,000 units, overall profitability remains a question mark. I think GA is still needed for volumes that will ensure healthy margins. I think they'll raise $$$ to finish GA plant after executing on R1 cost reduction this year and proving that R2...
I was planning on putting at least 150,000 miles on my 2018 Model 3 (currently at 55,000). I won't need the R3 in 2027, but I will WANT IT. Might just talk myself into a trade in when the time comes...
I've never been a "car guy," but even I felt some kind of nostalgic tug when I saw the R3...
If you need 100 to avoid draining to 0, do that.
We plug in every night and cap it at 80. Daily driving rarely drops below 30 so it's almost always in the 30-80 range. We charge to 95 or 100 before just about any road trip to minimize need for DC fast charging.
I wonder if they're secretly planning to announce a surprise early implementation of native NACS as part of the Q2 shutdown/changes. Otherwise people are going to start pushing their deliveries into next year waiting for the change, which I'm sure Rivian wants to avoid.
Seems odd to me, but here's the best rationale I could come up with: For RAN and Supercharger access, it's not any worse than front left (which is what R1 has), you just have to back into the space instead. Plus it makes overnight "curbside" charging easier, which will be more important at...
Motortrend just called from the future. The Rivian R3 has been awarded the 2027 crossover/SUV/rally car of the year. In other news, sales of Hyundai's Ioniq 5 hit an all time low.
