Guy bought a RWD Cybertruck for 70k not realizing it was a completely stripped down version.
Could have just bought a used Cyberbeast in a couple months for 35k, but oh well.
Pirellis in my opinion suck ass. I had 5 punctures in 30,000 kms before finally retiring them. Since then I've put just over 22,000 km's on my Nokian nAT's and not a hint of a pressure drop. I've been on far worse sharp Rocky terrain as well.
'23 Gen1 R1T nearly 15 hours, 8c weather, gear guard off, no WiFi available. 0.2kWh
I find the 24hour estimate off, but it may be accounting for me typically sitting in my vehicle at work for about 20 minutes with the heat on etc 🤷
Merry Christmas everyone! Yes, even the bots.
We did the bulk of our Christmas festivities yesterday due to family schedules, but that allowed me and my daughter to go exploring Christmas morning, while mum slept in. Went in search of snow, unfortunately the backcountry gates were all locked...
I think your post is a good reminder for those using the system to be more keenly aware of its limitations. As some have already touched on, most ignore the critical fine print when they're eager to try the new fancy toy.
A glazing contractor pulled up to our project in a Cybersuck this afternoon, so I walked up asked if it was his... Funny story, his Model 3 is in for service, Tesla gave him a CT as a loaner. If ever there was a sign they aren't selling well.
As he's offloading some tools, he starts bitching...
This was touched on in I think "Bearded Tesla Guys" video of it, he noted it wasn't following Google maps and they said they were using a different route planner in the background, not what the user sees on screen via maps.
I get it, I've also done enough 12v replacements over the years to know my "good window" is usually around 2-3 years. My issue is two fold though with EV's and 12v batteries, when they do go, you're essentially fucked and dead in the water, sure you can jump it to gain access to the vehicle, but...
Tidal bug when updating the vehicle, or rebooting. Only "fix" is to change media sources (change to Spotify) and then update the truck, or do an infotainment reset. Once things load up again, go back into tidal and all is restored.
Pain in the ass when you're eager for the latest software, but...
I have low confidence in the longevity of the 12v oem batteries. I hope I'm wrong, but if the replacement ones I have fail within another year and half, I see no reason not to try an alternative, especially if facing an 800 swap cost
It's just annoying that they still won't allow the harness to be added to the tonneau install package. Literally plug and play harness, plug and play tonneau.
If they want to charge me extra for the harness that was by all indications meant to be part of my configuration as a path to retrofit...
Clearly just benefits in general over a LA battery regardless of use case. I do wish the capacity was greater, but if Rivian is specifically looking for or only calibrated to recognize a total of 200ah, then I'm not sure how that would play out.
I'm thinking it would be akin to installing a...
