Not a Rivian owner, but they did ask me to confirm delivery and interest in LE and then sent a survey a few days later after the March 12th reveal clearly asking about color and interior choice.
Very clear its letting people know when they can configure and not they will configure in June.
I can say I did get a survey in March asking if I was getting a Launch edition and what color combos I was looking for. I am pretty sure they are already using those results to build the first batches.
My only hope is that it means I will get it around December. I was already nervous about how long it will take to get my R2 since I waited a year to put in the order after the announcement. I know the line is pretty arbitrary since R1 ownership, location, and desired trim, lidar waiting, and...
No joke, The closest one is 5-6 hour drive one way for me to see and have to cross 3 state borders. Insane since I am in one of the largest and most expensive areas in the country.
You forget to mention out of everyone who has reserved and said they will take delivery, some will wait for lidar, some will wait for tri motor or single motor, and delivery will be based on if you have an R1 and where you live as certain areas in the country will jump ahead of others...
Never said it was a safety issue. It's always been choice and preference. Just noticed everyone mentioning the driver's condition and not other passengers. Everyone's needs are different. I even said it doesn't matter to me, so not sure why you're replying to me.
Not always for the driver to use. Sometimes people have disabled or injured people who ride or the driver themselves getting injured or ill. Life is always unpredictable. My brother was a gymnast, but he had to have multiple surgeries and sprained and injured his leg doing the sport. Mom had...
You can see the spot on Kyle's video from out of spec with the R2 with Scott (holding the camera)

God I hope not. I'm already only getting Performance for Borealis. If it costs that much, I'll downgrade and they'll lose money. It's one of the reasons why I think if you're only offering colors on certain trims, they should be a bit cheaper because you're already forcing an upgrade to get it...
I think there are reasons why they are keeping it low. Possibilities could, testing out the car for issues before scaling up because this will be their first high volume car and while the enthusiasts are more likely to forgive mistakes, the general public won't. Increasing a few more service...
Agreed. I cringed when I saw the coastal interior in the R1 Dual motor was a 4500 dollar upgrade. Add a 2500 paint upgrade, it would be hard to justify. Hoping for an "affordable" vehicle the paint is more in line with other dealerships that cost 500-1000 at most around a similar price point and...
As a young millennial who has only had access to grey all their life because color died in the mid 2000s due to the recession, I want color not more grey.
Definitely looks like an R1. Back window doesn't have that divider, the badging on the back pillar doesn't exist on the R2, and there is no Rivian spelled out low on the door like the R1S.
