Sounds good, we'll go with "not designed to (consistently) drop on its own" , for now at least.
What threw me is that at delivery, when demo'ing the truck, it initially dropped consistently, then stopped, which led me to believe something was out of adjustment...
This is unlike the gear...
Really love my new R1T, this is a pretty minor issue, but haven't seen other mention of it...
Pushing the tailgate release button inside or outside unlatches the tailgate, but it usually does not drop on its own, it needs a slight nudge. I'm sure the service center can deal with it along with...
Tonneau opens with outside button or from inside touch panel, but does not retract fully... About 4" still sticks out.
This will cause an error message if opened from touch panel and the touch panel will not close it.
It closes fine with the outside button. Seal is fine.
It was like this at...
Except that it gets parked outside at home frequently. And since you kind of have to just 'trust' that proximity lock works, turning it off and on doesn't seem prudent.
And that will do nothing to fix the lock/unlock/lock/unlock behavior if we are at a coffee shop, restaurant, whatever and the...
I've only had my R1T a few days, and this seems exactly what is happening for me... Locks so far 100% of the time when I walk away (but I have to put a fair bit of distance), but doesn't always unlock.
As soon as I stick my hand in my pocket to grab the phone (and press the volume key to wake...
Nice work... Like the track setup.
I'd love to see a few more pictures of how the front wheel loads against the chock and maybe more detail showing if it actually touches the tonneau.
My Rivian was delivered a few days ago, but haven't tried getting the dirt bikes in it yet. Plus my tonneau...
They are batch-building. I proactively changed my config to match what I knew was rolling off the assembly line and got an immediate match and VIN assignment...
"Large" battery, four-motor, 20" wheels, black interior, Adventure pack, add the deleted-from-standard power tonneau cover back...
As others mentioned, local service center contacted for setting up delivery time/date before uploading final proof of insurance and proof of payment (copy of the certified check I used to pay).
It's a nice idea on the fully automated system, but they still are doing it pretty much manually...
Thanks to all those that posted up their results on hard-wiring to the mirror connector... Appreciated!
Though my Rivian delivery is delayed another few days, I'll add a couple of notes from multiple other V1 hardwire installs...
Power Cord:
I've used these V1 slide-in-tap style power cords...
A few pictures of the 21" wheels with and without the aero cover.
The hole that remains without the cover has a few 'steps' in it, so it's hard to say exactly what size cap might fit best, but it is around 48.4mm (1.9").
Note that this is MUCH smaller than most other vehicle center caps, at...
Nice work.... Links to the specific magsafe adapter and DC-DC converter you used?
I've tried a bunch of different magsafe adapters in my other car installations. In general, I've found magnetic attachment strength is much more a factor of the phone case that is used vs. the magsafe adapter...
The Munro Rivian teardown videos seem a bit myopic to me...
Their focus seems to be predominantly on lowering cost of manufacturing and speeding up production. Very important goals, for sure, but they don't mention the accelerated time-to-market that many of Rivan's decisions enabled nor...
If you want your R1T quickly, switch to 21", add the powered tonneau cover, and choose the black interior. I made those adjustments and *immediately* got a guide, VIN, and paperwork, and three days later, truck arrived at the nearest service center. *Seven months* before the delivery estimate...
My new R1T was off-loaded from the carrier yesterday (6/16) at my local service center, fresh from the factory. 744X.
It's going to be a very long 9 days until my delivery!
