  1. Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

Works fine. It takes a while to shut off the aux power to the detector, and it will wake back up again if you either have your phone unlocking the car or gear guard on when you walk up. And if heaven forbid it didn't turn off, it would probably take six months to drain the 12V battery...
  2. Our R1S is here!

Nice.... See you on the streets or trails in Colorado!
  3. Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

It seems to take a long time to shut off, and I had been checking mine also thinking it never shut off, but it does (on mine at least). Try this: Turn off gear-guard. Park your car for the night, lock it. Walk up to it the next morning, making sure you DO NOT have your phone with you. Leave...
  4. Tailgate not popping open with button

Mine also only opens on it's own only about half the time.... Adjusted twice by Rivian service. I've just gotten used to using two hands. One to push the button, the other to lightly pull on the tailgate. In the scope of things, not that big of a deal. I find it much more annoying that when...
  5. Greatest fear came true this morning - The Brick

Yes, any remaining credit is voided after you pick up your R1T. Credit also can not be used for tips, any tips given to the driver come out of your account, not the Rivian credit. It's not a bad system, they usually offer more credit than you are likely to use, and I believe they will bump it...
  6. First Real R1T Towing Experience / Don't Knock the 21" Wheels Until You've Tried 'em

This thread posted by @RivianXpress shows it is definitely possible... And not one but two motos... https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/rivian-hauling-dirt-bikes-in-bed-test-fitting-te300-and-500-ktm.6487/ With the gooseneck tailgate design, the R1T bed length tailgate down is only a...
  7. Charge door behavior

What? It was Elon who insisted on the ridiculously complex and impractical falcon doors and pedestal seats in the X that delayed its production almost a yeqr. Smart guy, and his persistence obviously pays off in many (even most) situations, but he is the king of never letting a go of a truly...
  8. Anyone install ConnectDER / Siemens meter collar for charging?

I see you mentioned it, but around here between Xcel and local inspectors, they are pretty particular about the the specifics of the meter box and what is attached to it. Plus it can trigger a requirement to upgrade older meters and boxes to newer style and conform to current code vs...
  9. Drove the R1T up the Kingston Peak Trail

Great photos! I'm close by to Kingston and have been wanting to take the Rivian up top. I've been there many times in the past on motos or other 4x4's, but it's been a while. What kind of condition is the trail in?
  10. Has anyone needed to replace a cracked windshield?

Lots of similar kits, but this is the one I picked up. As I said, not perfect, but I don't notice it unless looking for it. Now mine was on the passenger side, if it was dead center in front of the driver, might bother me more.
  11. Solid RED light after partial charging with portable charger...

I've had my R1T about two months. I home charge with a NEMA 14-50 receptacle on a 50A circuit, usually to 85% but occasionally to 100%. Never had an error or problem. Last night I set it to charge to 100% for a longer trip today, this morning I was greeted with a solid red light and charged to...
  12. Has anyone needed to replace a cracked windshield?

I picked up a nice windshield star about three weeks into ownership. I used a DIY repair kit (Rain-X) and did it myself. Perfect? No, but close enough, especially in Colorado where a rock hit is not at all uncommon. I'll wait for a bigger issue before replacing. Even if "free" (as in through...
  13. EV Sportline Jack Pad Puck

Actually that is *exactly* what the quickjacks do... Lift the entire vehicle. But still, I personally wouldn't have any issues with being 2% over over the QJ7000 nominal weight rating.
  14. Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

For iPhones and Android, V1Driver is the ultimate accessory for the V1. Yes, it can seem a bit complex at initial setup (though you can just ignore 95% of the options it gives you), but it couples with the V1G2 via bluetooth automatically every time you get in the car, auto-learns nuisance...
  15. EV Sportline Jack Pad Puck

Yes, weight issues aside, the quickjacks are 'approved' for use sideways. . I use my quickjacks all the time with my 911's. They are great, particularly if you don't have the room or desire for a two or four post lift. I've also used them sideways for lifting friends cars that don't have...
  16. EV Sportline Jack Pad Puck

There are four small aero panels/covers that are designed to be removed when lifting the entire vehicle. They are fairly easily removed, but you will need a Torx T20 and 10mm to remove them. Something like that lifting puck is designed for using a small portable jack and lifting a single...
