  1. Creative ways to extend range and/or charge your Rivian

50' = about 2.5 car lengths. On most freeways I drive, if you're more than 2.5 car lengths from the truck in front of you then you're just getting in the way. I'd take this risk for a 20% efficiency boost - when I'm in a bind - without any hesitation. YMMV.
  2. About Rivian's R1T build-to-order production strategy.

Seems like I recall RJ saying that majority of R1T buyers were both first time EV owners as well as first time truck owners... this may help explain the smaller demand for R1T. It doesn't appear that too many incumbent ICE truck owners are converting to EV truck owners (Ford or Rivian)...
  3. Let there be light! LED Pod Lights for Bed Racks / Roof Racks / Camp Site - EV Sportline Kits

Can you provide any details on how you wired the bed rack lights? Also, if I'm only interested in task lighting while camped, do you recommend the wide or flood? Looks like more great products for our Rivians from EVS!
  4. Layout of local Supercharger. What would you do?

IMHO, infringing upon adjacent fire lanes and/or handicap spots is secondary to blocking access to an adjacent charger. I'm not leaving my vehicle unattended if I can't conventionally park at a SC. If an emergent need requires the fire lane or handicap space, I simply move my vehicle.
  5. Parking Garage Structural Rating (Inquiry)

5,500 PSI concrete is the compressive strength of concrete. The 40-50 psf rating is for a structural system which may include concrete. Two different things.
  6. Parking Garage Structural Rating (Inquiry)

I've seen many rural bridges with posted 3-ton weight capacities... and in many areas it is a misdemeanor offense to knowingly exceed the structural capacity of a bridge (or parking structure?) with your vehicle...
  7. BEWARE - EVGo at Pilot Flying J - ripoff pricing

I paid $1.75/kWh at a DC Blink charger this past weekend... for a whopping 80kW rate! It was literally the only DC option in the region and I had to have 25kWh to complete my trip. This guy knew he had the entire market and charged accordingly... need more competition!
  8. Tire Replacement - Do you have experience with Michelin Defender LTX Platinum or Continental TerrainContact A/T?

just an observation: one of the frustrating things about the plethora of tire threads is that the OP will create a post asking about a specific tire(s)...and the responses quickly migrate to suggesting and/or listing a bunch of alternate tires that have little to do with the original post. It...
  9. The Ultimate Rivian R1T RMAXX Gear Tunnel Slide-Out Modular Storage Management Sled System has Launched - EVSportline.com

Your prototype design for the future Camp Kitchen will also influence my decision to purchase your sled in the meantime... I'm trying to imagine how a functional Camp Kitchen would fit into 1/2 of the sled if that is all that pulls out? I was about to purchase the current 3rd party Camp...
  10. iKamper Skycamp 3.0?

I typically sleep solo in my Skycamp Mini, but my 6'-4" frame has plenty of room - even with pillows, gear, etc..... with two people, it may be a bit tighter. YMMV.
  11. New Bolt-on MagSafe Phone Mount with Plug-and-play hidden power wire! - EV Sportline

Quick testimonial: I just installed this unit... the install video is easy to follow and all the necessary tools (with exception of a 13mm socket and a bit driver) are included in the kit. It took about 30 minutes for the install. Hardest part is being a contortionist to reach the fuse panel...
  12. The Ultimate Rivian R1T RMAXX Gear Tunnel Slide-Out Modular Storage Management Sled System has Launched - EVSportline.com

Great looking kit!! Any chance you can share any early concepts or prototypes of your Camp Kitchen design? I want whatever slide system I buy to be compatible with my eventual Camp Kitchen - would love to see what you're planning and any ETA on it. Nice work!
  13. New iKamper Skycamp DLX RTT Video features R1S

You can collapse the ladder and close the RTT without removing the HC steps. You have to reverse fold them towards the front edge of the ladder when you fold it up, but it's easy. I agree that if you had to install/remove them each time, it would not be worth the effort.
  14. New iKamper Skycamp DLX RTT Video features R1S

I recommend the HC steps... it turns your ladder into "stairs". Regardless of whether you use it for pets, it makes navigating the ladder much easier in stocking feet - especially in the dark. YMMV.
  15. A2Z NACS To CCS1 Adapter Review

Ordered on 3/18/24....arrived on 4/22/24. Tested it at local Tesla SC today and worked great first attempt! The Rivian plug/play charge makes this so easy. Even at 65% SOC, it quickly ramped to 167kW and tapered to about 120kW as it neared 70%. Really glad to have this for road trips!
  16. Level 2 NACS Adapter recommendations?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09DCTJCTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 I've used the Lectron adapter for dozens of Tesla Destination chargers (hotel stays) over the last 18 months without ever having a problem. This one has worked great for me.
  17. Rooftop Tent Woes (Yakima Skyrise Rivian branded tent)

I know the iKamper hardware works fine on the Rivian racks... as does the Yakima hardware for the Slim Shady roof rack. In addition to the name brand tent manufacturers, there is a plethora of aftermarket mounting hardware vendors online - you shouldn't have a problem finding something that...
  18. Go Fast Camper for R1T Announced

I'd love to see some photos of how users are configuring the interior of these setups... are you using steps or ladders to get in/out of the truck bed? I assume you have to empty the truck bed to have any meaningful usable space? are you using built-ins in the truck bed for efficiency? ...so...
