Yesterday was a big Rivian day for me. Since this thread is probably Chicago metro folks I figured I'd post here that I scheduled a First Mile Mobile Drive for next Friday (29April). I hope this means that I'm on track for my Q4 delivery but know that it doesn't really mean anything.
I went by but didn't try to go in. What was I going to do ask if my delivery was still on track?
From looking inside the Guest Area it looked up and running. 3 of the trucks in the lot didn't have plates. The other 3 did so I'm guessing they are employee's cars. The back parking lot was almost...
This is the advantage of the Rivians not having an integrated garage door opener. Pro tip: as soon as you put something on top of your vehicle you put your garage door opener in the glove box. That way you don't get home and automatically hit the opener.
I don't think anyone has the tent yet but I think this can be answered anyway. If you have the tent mounted (or anything else above the bed) can you access the spare tire and remove it? I'm sure it would be more difficult but is it even possible?
I have never owned a pickup and since I'm planning on using a tailgate pad I have a question. I will be keeping my R1T in the garage and there is a few inches of garage door clearance. What I like about carrying bikes in my minivan is that I just open the back door, toss in a bike or 2 and...
So much for their adventure testing. I'd really like to avoid using a hitch rack. I've never had a pickup or used one with a tailgate pad so I'm not very familiar. Would it be possible to add padding to a regular tailgate pad? Pipe foam, workout mat glued to protect that body line.
You can...
I was worried about height and lucky for me it was pretty easy to adjust my garage door. I did it 5 minutes ago and now I'm afraid the whole door is going to fall off because things never go that easy for me.
Personally, camping curious. Even with the rooftop tent and kitchen I think we will use it mostly for overnights along road trips instead of getting a room. If I can park at a charging station in a way that I could deploy the tent while charging and not affecting other chargers I'd take a nap...
Thanks for the overall discussion. I have never sold a car that was worth more than a few thousand bucks. I've been curious on how people sell vehicles that are in the tens of thousands.
Ultimately I want the most efficient tire and wheel combo. I'm sure that the weight of the R1T and it's 4 motors will handle the snow I deal with just fine with any tires. Having the extra rubber of the 20s would be nice for potholes but I'd rather have the increase in range of more efficient...
