  1. Bed mounted vs hitch mounted bike rack?

There is still a decent amount of room to jam stuff in the bed but not enough for the divider you were talking about. I am using a tailgate pad and it is so fast and easy. The bikes can stay in the bed when I back into the garage which is great too. I leave the gear cable lock in the bed all...
  2. Getting stopped and asked questions?

I have never been so popular in my life. Overall I find it fun.
  3. Chicago Rivian Sales Location Under Construction

They have a pretty big lot on the other side of the building.
  4. MTB Tailgate Pad

This was a good idea but I don't have the cross bars yet. I used a bungee like this. Easy, fast and makes putting the pad on much easier. The bike isn't super secure due to the extra fat tailgate but with another bungee around the seat tube it didn't budge.
  5. MTB Tailgate Pad

I received the Fox and Raceface halfsie tailgate pads and they are the exact same pad with different logos. None of these thoughts are new. The pads don't fit very well and unless someone designs a Rivian specific one I don't think any pad will be that great. The tailgate is too thick and the...
  6. Official Rivian Wall Charger installation guide

I really appreciate the help. The Rivian process has been insane.
  7. Official Rivian Wall Charger installation guide

Thanks, the default is 48 amps and a 60 amp breaker right? As long as my panel supports it is that what I should use?
  8. Official Rivian Wall Charger installation guide

I am having my charger installed this week. My electrician is good and I trust him but don't know how many wall chargers he has done. What are the key points I should tell him or that I should look out for? Thanks
  9. R1T and Mountain Biking

There's a thread on pads. It might have more info.
  10. MTB Tailgate Pad

I'm supposed to get my R1T tomorrow so I ordered both of the pads I linked to above. I'll update next week.
  11. MTB Tailgate Pad

Has anyone else considered the half-stack versions of the pads? A quick search shows that Fox and Raceface offer them. Buying a second one for carrying two more bikes is only $9 than buying a full size. 95% of the time I only need one or two bikes. In theory Installing and removing the smaller...
  12. IKamper X-Cover 2.0 Mini RTT (roof top tent) on my R1T

Thanks. If its 5 minutes then it sounds like a good way to spend a slow charging session on the road.
  13. Curious about the Guides

Are you sure they're in Normal? My guide call was scheduled in Mountain Time.
  14. Chicago Rivian Sales Location Under Construction

FYI: They called me. I didn't schedule online. I asked the guy that brought the car for the test drive if he knew why I was called (I'm an oct-Dec delivery) and he didn't know or wasn't saying. It was a blast.
  15. Chicago Rivian Sales Location Under Construction

I had a First Mile drive last week.
  16. Charger while driving (towing)

I meant a whole new system. Not for something that is available today. It could be included on any trailer. The Airstream mentioned above has a battery and motors. It seems like you could save weight by not having the extra motors but being able to use the trailer's battery as an extra battery...
  17. Charger while driving (towing)

The drive motors on the trailer are a good idea but wouldn't it be easier and cheaper overall if a trailer's battery could be used by the EV? Obviously there would need to be a standard and a charging port in the rear but it seems like a good way to increase the overall range. It would be good...
  18. Chicago Rivian Sales Location Under Construction

It was a weird coincidence because I had an email invite when I got home from my ride-by of the SC. I did not reach out to them nor do I think riding my bike past the SC had anything to do with it. They are bringing it to me.
