  1. Gen2 Quad Motor Pricing Leaked by Costco! R1S = $115,900 / R1T = $109,900

You mean like Tesla? Minus the whole political aspects of it... Going to disagree on that one.
  2. Gen2 Quad Motor Pricing Leaked by Costco! R1S = $115,900 / R1T = $109,900

Hopefully gen 2 has the ability to be upgraded w/ new modules to gen 3... Until that's announced (or not) I'll be holding my gen 2 quad reservation for a bit... and may just roll that $3k deposit into the R2 instead and await a gen3 R1T/S You can tell gen 1 was supposed to (at the start) have...

  4. ‘Big Boost Coming,’ Says Investor About Rivian Stock

Too much sensible analysis going on in here. Where's the crypto bros and stonk hodlers at?

Agree to disagree. I'm a software guy. Good luck trying to change public perception without changing how most companies now operate. It's more so about cutting costs and maximizing profits. The UI isn't complicated and adding another menu or rearranging shouldn't bog down the system. When...

I'll take a video and share. Perhaps my truck has a glitch in the H/W or calibration? I've seen a few others mention it too in various places.

Don't get me started on how confused the truck is, even when stationary, about road lanes and cars in front. Good thing I don't have epilepsy with how much the objects flicker back and forth because the truck can't agree with what positions the objects should be drawn in " It's the cameras "...

But, but, but.... They reworked the Unreal Engine Renderer so it's more flashy! /s I miss when software quality was actually a metric and not an afterthought.

Apple Music still broke AF. Love Rivian. But their lack of software quality in terms of additional features outside of driving is lacking. It's a music app ... This should be trivial.
  10. New Year efficiency drop ?

Part of the Big Man's designed obsoletism. Each year the function `dropEffBy10Percent()` is triggered. Even Rivian couldn't escape the Big Man's grasp. /s

Feel sorry for the bloke that owned the CT: Turo insurance is gonna be like: Sorry, we do not cover acts of terrorism. Thoughts & prayers be with you.
  12. Yearly Reminder: shop around on auto and/or home insurance!

I never had a lapse in insurance coverage. And never saw any significant savings from staying with one provider over another simply for the sake of their customer loyalty program. One is leaving money on the table if theyre not price shopping.

I have not fully tested out Rivian since the new parts installed. Overall so far so good! I need to do some more specific tests to see if my suspension is 10/10. I did feel/hear something concerning during a hard (8/10) launch in Rally mode that I will want to reproduce but secure items in...

Update: Truck is ready for pickup today! Ironically (Rivian replaced the 12v in my own Riv under warranty) - the 12v in my loaner (2024 Chevy Silverado EV) from Enterprise died last night I discovered this morning when the EV warned me about "Battery Low - Start Vehicle". When I go to press...

Thanks! He's doing much better these days and keeps uninsured insurance on. My auto increased to $970 per 6 months with increased limits to satisfy the $1M umbrella policy. Which is $150 per 6 months. Still coming out way ahead and now our security blanket is bigger too. Appreciate you...

  17. Yearly Reminder: shop around on auto and/or home insurance!

Nice! Yeah my buddy told me about umbrella policies. GEICO was offering one for $1M for a relatively low rate. But it did require bumping up minimums to 300k. I didn't bite yet as they wanted automatic approval of the changes but didn't include the cost increase. My main priority was getting...
