Ditto to a lot of these.
But also, install bigger & better dampened fans for the heat exchangers.
So fucking loud and vibrates like a son of bitch.
Also, we don't need a Gen 3 for an odometer that's live in the driver's screen. That's purely software.
My wishlist for Gen3:
800V
Bigger pack...
That's rough. I believe my installer used pure copper for the install. I have not verified, though.
Are you going to replace the wiring with copper?
Then re-torque to spec to see if that fixes it?
Though there is a chance the Rivian Charger could be damaged.
If you need to replace the...
My wife is leasing a '24 Lyriq right meow.
We are 12 months in and 12 months to go.
It's overall a great car.
They definitely had some software issues, but they are rolling out updates and OTA updates (the delivery of) have been smooth out.
Going from an R1T to the Lyriq ... it's a...
Could they develop a RAD tuner for G1?
Absolutely!
Even if it wasn't to the 100% of the ability of G2's; they still could.
Will they?
Probably not.
Sunk cost with no "on paper" gain.
Even though it would do wonders for brand loyalty in the long run.
(I would consider buying it if they made it...
...by hand, less often, is less wear simply by the lower frequency. Yes.
But ALSO:
1. your hand washing, most likely, is less harsh (mechanically speaking) vs an automatic car wash's brushes
2. your hand washing, most likely, has less contamination on your rags vs the car wash's brushes
3...
This makes me feel a bit better about the fix. I was fortunate enough to make 1 service request and provide sufficient evidence to make this not a battle.
The service advisor was really hammering the fact that ~9 kW range is the "norm".
I made sure to make a rebuttal about how I paid for a...
I'm back home after picking up my Riv.
They replaced the entire charging harness and since they had to dig into the vehicle, they had to do an alignment afterwards (included in the warranty).
They did note the temp sensors were reading inaccurately. These were part of the replacement.
They...
Context is key.
Kick turn has 2 uses. With and without steering input.
For hairpin turns - steering wheel input is needed. (can be used more accurately stated)
360 spins - no steering input.
Isn't the point of kick turn so you don't need to turn the wheel as much? 🤔 More accelerator perhaps instead of more wheel turn?
Does make for an awkward turning the wheel regardless
Update.
They had to order a new "Charge Port Harness" and replace that. Then will conduct further testing to validate the issue is resolved.
I'm just happy I wasn't paranoid 😁
My R1T is in service as of yesterday for this issue. Plus I discovered the rear passenger door trim was coming off due to adhesive failure.
I noticed this morning they tested the charging at least 4x times. In the middle of those tests, they actually re-installed the latest update. Best guess...
I'm having a similar problems with derated charging.
My wife's Lyriq will charge w/o issue at 11.2 kW on the same charger (Rivian's).
My R1T: I noticed this summer started throttling back to 7.2kW.
On a hot, TX summer day - I can respect that. But when it's only in the mid 70s or 80s, parked...
