It's because it's a bit difficult to half tap to cancel. Full tap in the opposite direction just activates the turn signal that way. It's also possible that the signal is canceling on its own and your timing is such that you are now activating in the opposite direction. Others on this thread...

If you full tap it, a half tap in the opposite direction will cancel it as well, without more blinks.

I have never seen a vehicle meet the turn threshold to cancel the turn signal on a lane change.

The base panel doesn't have anything on it, just bare gray gel coat. It is carbon fiber top and bottom with a foam insulation sandwiched in between.

Rivian will never do that. Makes no sense financially with only ~80k sold and way less than half that would use it.

Sure, it's more secure, but not substantially so and only against specific attacks. The predominant threat is these two security measures work to counteract is replay attacks against which they are equally effective.

That's the number one reason I won't turn it on and have advocated to Rivian to enable PIN to drive. Nearly the same benefits from a security aspect, but none of the infrastructure tie in requirements.

I believe the R2 uses eSIM. Doesn't mean they'll let you bring your own provider, though.

Yeah, but that was a rare hardware issue, no? This would solve all but the most extreme edge cases.
