I've had my R1S since Sept. I'm coming out of BMW M cars and Tesla M3P which i lowered with different springs. Fit and finish wise, I'm very very impressed with my vehicle. Gaps are not present. Paint, after paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF just shines. Got a great detailer and products...
Just found out my area of SoCal will be allowing me to charge my Rivian at Tesla superchargers. Tried to deduce what adapter to buy on Amazon, but got a lot of inconclusive results. Anybody bought an adapter? IF so, what model and type did you get and where did you get it from please. Thanks much.
I find it beyond amusing that a bunch of MIT mathematicians are telling me what I’m sharing has been my actual , observed ranges. Granted it’s an estimate and I get that. That said I was sharing my estimates prior to the new update which drastically reduced my range. The update was billed as...
Unsolicited experience being shared. Here we go. Backstory: I've owned EV's for years (BMW i3's, Tesla M3P) and range has way too many factors to "reliably" count on. Those factors include: temperature, tire pressure settings, load inside of the car, freeway vs city driving etc. Super bowl...
still have not received it. Strange as my past experiences with upgrades have been that they've come to me relatively quickly. I also heard that Rivian may have pulled it back due to a problem.. Is that true?
In some ways, I'd like to see Rivian copy Tesla. They have a great UI.
Break away from Alexa. I hated it in my house, I truly dislike it in my vehicle.
Ablility to dictate/answer texts. I get lots of calls while driving.
More choices for entertainment.
Better map feature. More detail. ability...
Perspective and taking other people's words for things. One is essential: perspective the other makes no sense in my world. I don't know you, yet I should take your version/vision of what you experience??? Really. I have an R1S. I love it. It is unique and quirky. Yes, in MY experience (owing...
I had this happen to me for a few days. Just as I was going to take it in for service (pain in the ass drive to El Segundo) it started working. In the interim, I did a soft reset as well. Working like a charm since then.
I have a great car wash guy come twice a month. The truck has a ceramic coat and front film. In between I use Shine products and super soft towels. Dirt and water. Repel off of the truck.
Hi, I don’t mind the ride quality. It is not a Tesla. As I said in my report off the line hard acceleration can be challenging. If you’ve ever raced or driven sports car, you learn how to harness the power. The Rivian has so much torque that it can be a challenge. Sport mode is more predictable...
Background: BMW M cars and Tesla Model 3 P lowered. I have the R1S in GW.
1. Power is phenomenal and instant torque is addictive. Even in M cars, it felt like it took a second before the power surge.
2. Handling in sports cars is meant to be tight, very little sway and g #'s around .92+. Rivian...
In my time with my R1S, the ideal range appears when I drive 45-55 mph and the temp range is 60-72 degrees. As I live on the coast those temps are doable. Driving that slow is painful, so not doable to me.
How many of us drive in silence? Second road noise is louder because an ICE car has engine noise. EV’s don’t. Another factor, R1S audio system kicks ass. I love listening to music. One thing I do notice is the wind buffeting at 80-90 mph is loud. Lastly I love the aggressive regen. Takes a...
