Same. Will try the get a new code to login trick and see if it works. IMO, the infotainment is pretty, but it's still one of the weakest links in the vehicle.
Physical buttons are the correct answer for a lot of things, but not everything. There's a sweet spot. I've got some cars with WAY too many buttons including a handful that I've probably never touched. The Rivian could use a few more buttons and a few less- for example, buttons for door...
That CTRL Bar looks very nice.
Is is possible to do CarPlay, but as an overlay only between the top and bottom menu bars? This would require quite a bit more advanced coding since you're blending two video feeds and touch interfaces, but would allow direct access to HVAC, seat heaters, etc...
I did the exact same thing today. Bluetooth audio is still ridiculously buggy and feature poor. I tried it at first and gave up when it wasn't meaningfully better than the broken Apple Music. Then, I signed in and out of Apple Music, but it wouldn't work for more than a few minutes. Wound up...
I used a jack to put pressure under my breaker bar while I was removing trickier bolts. Even after I started to strip the head one 1x of them, this gave me enough to get it out. I tried a bunch of other methods to remove it before then, but the jack worked 1st time... Wound up buying a new...
I'd love to see Rivian offer a Rivian branded JL Audio Stealthbox or something similar as a factory upgrade. Since they control the programming of the amplifier/DSP/headunit, they could even optimize it so the crossovers, level control, etc. are done by the factory audio system and are...
My Gen1 R1T rebooted the infotainment 2 or 3 times in the last ~2.5 years- normally following an update. My wife has a 2022 XC40 Recharge. I've been inside when it did a reboot or two, but she hasn't really talked about any issues with it. The software on both cars has gotten massively better...
What I'd recommend:
Low base price w/ no updates or other perks
Option for monthly/yearly subscription that includes those benefits mentioned above.
"Lifetime" subscription option that you pay once.
I suspect a lot of people would rather pay $100 or even $200 once vs. $3 per month for years...
All of the above. I have auto socks, chains, and snow tires. The snow tires are normally put on for winter, the auto socks and chains are in case I don't get the chance to put on real winter tires. Also make sure to have knee pads, ski pants/overalls, gloves and other suitable clothing for...
It already is. I had an April appointment at SSF moved up to later this month at the Fell street location. Would have been even sooner, but I tried to pick a day where I had minimal conflicts. They mentioned that they would do the service while I waited. When I went to SSF to get my spare...
I signed up. I have installed devices like this in my 2013 Cadillac CTS-V (Navtool > upgraded to aftermarket HU with 100% digital audio to the amps > purchased GROM VL2 just in case...) and 2013 Touareg TDI (iMANauto). The #1 downside to the Navtool was poor audio quality because it was using...
Try a TP55 + jack to push the breaker bar into the head. Unless the pattern is completely gone, this may give you enough connection to break it loose. That's what I had to do.
I'm also on the SF peninsula. Drop off for school is similar. I think I was the 2nd Rivian and now there must be a dozen or more. It would be nearly impossible to drive anywhere (even just a mile or two) without seeing one. It's to the point that when I travel for work, I'm always surprised...
The Megawatt sliders are really, really nice. Mine still look new. They came properly packaged and shipped via truck freight due to weight and size. They fit perfectly and the kick-out complements the design of the truck (and is functional if you ever want to go off road).
If you have this issue, skip Rivian and start here. It costs some money, but saves a lot of time.

I tried having Rivian fix this, but they couldn't drive fast enough and didn't have a smooth road to test on. They tried to fix it anyway and it helped...
It's Stain-less. It can absolutely rust. In industry, there are extensive SS cleaning, preservation, and testing procedures to prevent SS from rusting or corroding. If you get those wrong, it rusts or corrodes like crazy. Even if you get them right, it's not a guarantee that stainless steel...
