  1. Rear ended - What should I get checked on truck

You can probably call them to get a recommendation on a local, Rivian-approved repair shop, so you don't have to make the haul to the SC.
  2. Rear ended - What should I get checked on truck

There is zero chance that is <$3k. The officer should have known better. As others have said, go to Rivian and have them recommend a repair shop. FWIW my daughter was slightly tapped in her Miata and the insurance repair (bumper protection, bumper cover replacement, camera + calibration, etc)...
  3. Navigation Range to destination goes up vs down!!!

Oh fun - mine did this for a while, too. It was hilarious. Some weird artifact after the .46.0 update. Reset should solve it. FYI for those who didn't experience it - the dash and nav guess-o-meters would be equal when setting off and using nav to a destination. Then, over time, for every...
  4. Rivian PLEASE give us a VERY LOW REGEN for Conserve Mode and Snow.

I understand and appreciate where you're coming from, but it seems like a liability for Rivian to formally support a FWD snow mode on this truck given weight. One way you can potentially address the situation is to ensure blended braking is off (where the truck automatically applies brakes to...
  5. Bike Rack on R2?

FYI - Kuat when tilted clears top and bottom on the R1S. I'm assuming they'll be this smart on the R2.
  6. PaaK just stopped working - quick fixes?

Thanks everyone. In this case, a hard reset cured it, but will be monitoring. @JeffC's experience sounds awful, although from what I'm reading it's more common than we would like. @Rivian - hotfix please.
  7. PaaK just stopped working - quick fixes?

Yeah I can get the truck to wake up and unlock via the app, but proximity and therefore PaaK are borked.
  8. PaaK just stopped working - quick fixes?

PaaK stopped working this morning, out of the blue, before heading to work. Since it was 530am and I didn't have time to mess around and end up being late to a customer meeting, I just tossed the card on the console and took off. Anyone know if there's a quick / easy fix to sudden-dropout of PaaK?
  9. Toyota Highlander EV Coming - Is This It?

I agree. More importantly, so do The Commentariat at TheAutopian. Therefore, true. This is Toyota's next-gen pickup, and if it's electric in any significant way (PHEV > 100 miles base range), we should be stoked.
  10. Rivian R2 with Lidar = Waymo?

(warning - computer vision nerd checking in) There is an ongoing debate as to the efficacy of cameras as the primary vision systems used in ADAS++ (aka Self-Driving) applications - specifically, in this example, L4 autonomy. The R2 G3 will have lidar + cameras + other sensors, and that's...
  11. 20" Inch Best 20" Tire for Max Efficiency (R1S): On-Road with Occasional Snow Driving

My experience was "same efficiency as 21s" (and I had both 21s and 20s at different times, then ran 20" All-Seasons in the same diameter as the OE 21s).
  12. 20" Inch Best 20" Tire for Max Efficiency (R1S): On-Road with Occasional Snow Driving

The Michelin MS2 are the best AS I've ever driven. Efficient, quiet, and genuinely great on snow. The Wrangler Territory seem to be a great option, and are 3PMSF rated. IMO I'd go with those if I had a single set of tires.
  13. Prepping Rivian/EV for Major Winter Storm

As long as you're not running the heater, the answer is ... a pretty long time. Assuming you keep the home-vampires at bay (300W max for the house when everything is "off"), lights + modern TV + stereo + occasional appliances, and 80kWh will last you many days. Likely a week - more if you're...
  14. The unwanted first child (Gen 1) of a forgotten relationship?

I have a Gen2 now, had a Gen1 before. They're about to stick all the future-looking stuff behind a paywall. The headlights are great, the photo-chromatic roof is excellent, and the Gen2 tonneau is light-years better. But here's the thing - I don't use the autonomy, and it's not worth the...
  15. 21" Inch What does everyone do with their 21" wheels when they inevitably replace them?

I'll be the rare one to say it: the 21s are the best tire option, now that the Michelins are available. They are far more supple than the 22s, fit the wheel well correctly, are very efficient, and very quiet. Aesthetics are up to you, of course. But having had all 3 options (+ AS on the 20"...
  16. UHF has never worked on my Gen2 with 46.0 and now 46.30

Exactly the same problem for me. Applaud Rivian for defaulting to higher privacy setting. Annoyed that I had to ChatGPT the solution after a week or so of frustration.
  17. App Climate Schedule doesn’t do anything.

In my experience, setting a conditioning schedule on the day you want it to start will not work. Not sure if others experience it, but I know I have multiple times (across G1 and G2 trucks). To make sure your car isn't broken, set one for tomorrow at a time when you can verify it's working...
  18. Burnouts!

Burnouts are dumb, and dumb is fun. Ergo, burnouts are fun. You can kinda do them, depending on config and tires. Though I'm not sure you'll be "laying down 11s" like in a solid-axle posi with 600hp rwd muscle car. You have several hoonigan settings to play with. Highly recommend playing...
  19. California EV Sportline Wheels and Falken Wildpeak Tires For Sale

Look great - how much are you asking?
  20. Ford's EV Plans - Very Positive News

I give Ford credit for seeing the problem. But as of now, I have little faith in their ability to execute a path to a solution. Problems like this are structural, baked into every layer and every person in an organization.
