I'd be happy to meet them half way and pay the cost. Or do the transport myself. As it stands, don't they have to deal with that anyway if the vehicle breaks down on a road trip?
I'd be willing to put up with that if that was the condition, yes. I have access to another vehicle and trailer so I could tow it or transport it if necessary. We have family within 200 mi of a service center so if it was minor we could drive it there if we could make an appointment and get it...
We've had an R1T on order since 2020-04-04. Our delivery window has been continually slipped, I believe because of the distance we are from a service center (we're in Montana, 500+ miles to service center). Our delivery window was Jan-Mar 2024, and now says Oct-Dec 2024.
Has anyone taken...
I'm pretty sure that has been the problem all along; nearest SCs are
Portland (588 mi)
Salt Lake (513 mi)
Bellevue (524 mi)
But are they going to keep slipping it forever?
I have had an R1T on order since 2020-04-04.
Originally a Max Pack, it was changed to the Large when the Max got delayed.
The configuration hasn't really changed much, and is:
Adventure Package
Quad Motor AWD
Large Battery
Rivian Blue
Manual Tonneau
Wall Charger
My previous delivery...
Because they aren't filling any of their existing orders for people who live more than a few hundred miles from an existing service center.
I ordered 2020-04-04 which would have been filled some time ago. But I live 65 miles outside of Missoula, and it's a long way to any service center. They...
Can someone explain to me exactly what the side rails on the R1T are?
Just got the note saying if I don't order the manual tonneau cover, I don't get the side rails.
Are they something added onto / cut into the top of the bed sidewalls?
I had assumed they were a permanent part of the bed, but...
We have a 2020-04-04 order date; was originally max-pack but changed to large when they made the delayed max-pack announcement. Live in Missoula, MT, many hundreds of miles from the Seattle, Portland, and Denver SCs. Would happily pick up in Denver as we have family there. Don't want to fake...
I've read it's best to not keep the battery at 100%, more like 85%, then top off before heading out. Also that you want to be plugged in for shore power to keep the batteries warm. Just to clarify (haven't taken delivery yet), can I keep it plugged in and still limit charging to 85%?
Is there anything one can do to reduce the effects of cold/wind on the battery in the R1T the way you can with a conventional radiator? We had -50 and I covered the grill of our subaru forester with cardboard, a common remedy in very cold weather.
What happens if the home location is in a building that doesn't have wi-fi connectivity? We have a detached garage and I'm pretty sure there is no wi-fi signal there.
Our local utility charges extra at peak hours. Can a Rivian be programmed to only charge during certain periods of time, and left plugged in to a charger?
I haven't a clue. I don't really care what other truck has factory tow mirrors. I'm saying that if you tout yourself as a great tow vehicle, you should come equipped to tow, or at a minimum provide as options what one needs to safely tow in real life. A quick search turns up oem F150 mirrors...
I'm hoping the extended mirror will show up as a retro-fittable option. Given the capabilities of the existing mirror, I'm not sure an after-market one will be an option. I'm just puzzled that it isn't there in the first place, as they are so common on vehicles that tow things and Rivian has...
I don't understand this statement. Use the forklift to shove the pallet back. I've seen forklifts with long extensions they can easily pick up with the regular forks; the extension has a tee at the front, which butts against the pallet so they can shove it. Put a chain around the back of the...
Personally, I'd prefer a solid roof with NO glass. No-one I know with a sunroof ever uses them after the first week. I've had three, only because they were mandatory in some option package with something else we wanted. They're too hot, and when opened, get full of leaves, pine-needles...
I'm wondering what peoples' thoughts are on how the R1T will work out in real life towing situations. Just because it's can tow 11,000# doesn't mean that will work well in reality. I currently have three things I tow: a 3 horse/stock trailer, a small "Happier Camper" with a GVW of < 1500#, and...
