  1. What R2 features are you most excited about?

This is the reason we'll be cancelling our reservation unless something dramatic happens before getting the green light to order. We were single feature buyers so when they pulled that one feature we were out. Oh well, maybe next time. Our 2025 Model Y LR AWD and all-new 2026 Model Y Performance...

So if you put the word "fact" in quotes like that does that make it not really a fact? If so, these statements seem accurate to me. Like saying that the NY Jets are a "good" football team. Listen, you can argue all you want (and I'm sure you will) about how much better the R2 is than the Model...
  3. R2 at LA Auto Show 2025 (photos & videos)

I get it now... You're one of those people who thinks if you yell your incorrect opinion loud enough that it somehow takes the place of normally spoken facts.

Except for the undeniable fact that they're both quite literally in the same class: Mid-size SUV On top of that, they both belong to an even more specific subset that includes far less vehicles currently: Mid-size SUV BEV. Of which there aren't terribly many examples to date so it would be...
  5. Colorado Checking In

We're 100% in agreement there. We can't afford these subsidies as we rapidly head towards insolvency as a nation. Soon we won't even be able to service our debt's interest. That'll be fun. Thankfully we still have TABOR. It seems like we get closer and closer to removing it with each passing...
  6. Colorado Checking In

Makes sense. I'm not sure all of the machinations behind the scenes but our Colorado credit was $3,850 on two new Model Y's bought from Tesla. We financed one because it was 0% interest and that ~$50k is making me over $2k per year just sitting in a savings account but the other one was cash. We...
  7. Colorado Checking In

Nope, same program as far as I know. It's the same line item on the purchase agreements anyway and everything else has it's own line item so I doubt they would combine those if they were separate programs. I know some websites state $3,500 and some state $3,850 and was surprised to see $3,850 in...
  8. Colorado Checking In

I know it states $3,500 but there's a way you can get $3,850 but I'm not sure how. I just know we've got two new Model Y's that have both been $3,850. Something about the clean credits being assigned through them if you finance but we've paid cash and got it so I'm not sure really how that works...
  9. Colorado Checking In

Ohh... is this for the trade-in program that was $6k? That would make more sense with the #'s I saw. Not exactly the same as the now-discontinued federal EV tax credit of $7,500.
  10. Colorado Checking In

Not sure about the "up from $6,000" part as the incentives for purchasing a new EV was only ever $5,000 before recently stepping down to $3,850 before it steps down further before phasing out over the next few years. Based on the way it was previously written anyway.
  11. Sirius music big miss

I must be crazy because when I disappear up into the mountains the absolute last thing I want polluting my ear holes is news. Blech! The way I see it, Rivian is doing us a favor. 😂
  12. Sirius music big miss

Yes, I'm aware. I was in sales in a high end car audio shop and made a chunk of money on Sirius & XM subs & installations when they were two separate entities back and kept up with the larger details up until after the merger. It was "Boomer speak" since that's kind of where this topic exists...
  13. Will you convert your R1 reservation into an order or are you reconsidering it?

The only reason I haven't requested a refund is that someone @ Rivian told me directly that they haven't 100% scrapped the fold-flat front seats for the production model. We've basically become a single-issue-buyer since we're onboard w/everything else (for better or for worse) the R2 has to...
  14. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

The point that was made (clearly lost on you) is that y'all wanna gang up on other brands for non-issues but the same thing done to your beloved makes you all sorts of riled up. It was an interesting & intentional exercise that went about the way I thought it would. The tribalism is strong...
  15. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

I quoted your post because it was outlining how oversimplified some people's take on using aluminum is for vehicle production. My post was directed at those in this thread that were bashing Tesla for using aluminum in a way they felt wasn't acceptable. The part in question needs to be able to...
  16. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

Oh, I think I see now. When someone takes something that's a non-issue and uses it to paint a brand in a negative light and question their overall capability it ruffles your jimmies. So long as it's Rivian and not Tesla anyway. But if someone does the same thing to Tesla (as is the case w/ this...
  17. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

Define this "time" that you speak of when the hitch is going to fail. I mean, assign a REAL number to it since it seems to be the primary concern. That hitch, even if used daily at it's capacity, will outlive most other components of that vehicle. It's odd that people are getting their jimmies...
  18. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

It's not a debate worth having. It was already settled years ago. It's a net positive for consumers.
