Anyone order from the shop to find out that their R1 was sent and prepped at the wrong service center?
My sister in Denver ordered from the shop, and just got a text saying that her R1S is almost ready. The problem is the service center sending the message noted Gaithersburg, Maryland. We...
Found some more information. While not Statutory, here's maybe some insight (or fuel to the confusion). The Colorado Energy Office has a page on the Electric Vehicle Tax Credits. Link: Electric Vehicle Tax Credits | Colorado Energy Office.
On the website it talks about fully electric...
Yes, I meant 42-1-102 (108).
I agree it is all a mess, and also whole heartedly agree that Colorado should publish a list.
I have read a couple of posts in different forums and groups, for what it it's worth, where people have spoken to CO DOR agents, and have either been told the $2k or the...
You could be right... part comes down to what is a truck. The cross reference is C.R.S. 41-1-102. It defines a truck as:
(108) “Truck” means any motor vehicle equipped with a body designed to carry property and which is generally and commonly used to carry and transport property over the...
Now the tricky part or tax acrobats, piecing it all together based on what Colorado has published.
We know that the R1S is greater than the weight allowed for a EV vehicle (non truck). So the information on the Innovative Motor Vehicle Credit does not apply. See: Income Tax Topics...
Here's the Colorado statutes in relevance.
C.R.S. 39-22-516.8
(ee)
(I) (excluded because it pertains to prior to Jan. 1 2017).
(II) “Truck”, for tax years commencing on or after January 1, 2017, has the same meaning as in section 42-1-102 (108), C.R.S., and includes a hybrid truck, a light-duty...
Based on my prior post (#32), by waiting until 2024 you will be able to get both credits, as long as the MSRP is $80k or less...
As Spaceball mentioned, a wildcard part of the equation will be if the 2024 models will be added to the allowed vehicles per the IRS. There is a chance that the list...
I believe the R1S falls under the Innovative Truck Credit. The Innovative Motor Vehicle Credit is for (in short) a vehicle with a GVWR 8,500 or less. The publication states that "a light duty passenger motor vehicle with a GVWR of more than 8,500 may qualify for the innovation truck credit."...
From another forum topic, it looks like the Colorado tax credit is filed for the year of which you take. You do not amend back to 2022. See post #12. Link: (30) Colorado Tax Credits | Rivian Forum - R1T R1S R2 News, Specs, Models, RIVN Stock -- Rivianforums.com

Well shoot, struck out via chat. They said I have to wait and they'll call me when it's my turn. When asked the time frame they gave me a can response of trying to get everyone behind a R1 before delivery.
I got the same email, but don't see a link. Tried to call the Rivian general number, and am on hold still. If you get through, please let me know what they say.
Met a guy who had a wheelchair lift for his truck. The door size was a non issue.
video link for what he had:

I ended up dropping by the Denver SC on Nov.30 and spoke with an employee there. Really nice guy, let me sit in a R1S and look around. He said they are doing the First Mile, but not a whole lot of them, so if you want a First Mile Drive, it may be advisable to contact the general Rivian number...
