Is your Wifi network the hotspot at the moment you took that picture? For me, it's not there, but then once I'm connected to the Rivian hotspot it shows up.

I had some trouble the first time I tried it. Once I marked the hotspot as safe in my VPN it has worked flawlessly. So if you have a VPN, that’s something to try. But only Disney …. maybe Prime but I haven’t tried Prime. Netflix was stated by Rivian as not currently working and Apple+...
Now that you mention it, it’s a Nokia. Ha ha!!!!!
Connect your iPhone to the hotspot in the vehicle and the apps will detect the Chromecast and the icon shows up right next to the AirPlay icon. It also shows up before you start individual videos. This picture shows it in the upper right before...
The cast button is in the app for Disney, Hulu, Paramount, Max, Amazon, etc. it’s also in Netflix but that currently doesn’t work (for anybody). Just follow the Rivian directions to open the casting in the new video app, connect to the hotspot, go in a supported app, and click the button. So...
How did they appease half of owners? I’m all Apple at home and casting from iPhone works just fine. Other than the name of it, it’s exactly the same while using it. The only things not working are Netflix (which I’m assuming is temporary or a Netflix restriction) and AppleTV+. Sure it would...
That’s what I do with these too. Just call and you always get a deal. I signed up yesterday and was surprised it’s actually $5. The rate is lower and the taxes and licensing fee bring it up to $5. Better than the old days when they advertised $11.99/mo and then there was something like a $8...
We’ll have to see but I don’t think so. I signed up for “Music & Entertainment” the same as the hard radio and that was under the Radio + Streaming option so I could enter the radio ID. And the pricing it says will take effect after the 12 months is the same as the regular Radio + Streaming...
I bet it’s one or a mix of licensing cost, ease with their Google Automotive underpinnings, and/or they did casting first due to those things and Airplay is next. But I bet there’s a cost factor and not an Apple permission thing. That would play into Alexa as well. With the Amazon vehicle...
Totally agree. The quality is better than the radios and you get the extra channels and Pandora stations you don’t get on a radio. They have to move to charging for this at some point. Another company is moving into satellite internet (I forget who) to compete with Starlink so sometime soon...
The interesting test would be to do that on somebody else’s truck. There isn’t an Apple Watch app and if there was a background implementation of Apple Key they are hiding for now you’d have to add the key to your wallet first individually on the phone and the watch. So that seems interesting...
I’m still tinkering but am here for now. I’d like a little more rumble on the base but it sounds soooooooo much better with the update. I’m on a gen 2 R1S.
I’m really happy with the sound improvement but agree it’s still better with Atmos turned off. One song I tried sounded better with Atmos on, but a few others all sounded worse. They were less full sounding and the voice sounded separated from the music. So, hopefully that improves over time...
