I talked to CS a long time ago about this and they said a panel will fit, but that was probably before the design was finalized.
"Q: what is the max width of the rear opening? i.e. can you fit a sheet good (4 foot wide panel) inside flat and in between or on top of the wheelwell arm rests in...
I made that changeover successfully but it was a long time ago when there was ample supply of both most likely. Worth a shot to as cs if they can make that happen again.
April-May 2022, Preordered 11/18 during the reveal. R1S LE, Off road package, 20". SF Bay Area.
Looks like folks who pre-ordered up a year later have the same delivery window. Suggests they are hoping to ramp aggressively to have a bolus of cars to release in the summer. i.e. non-linear growth...
The front still rose a bit in standard mode (as most cars do under really hard acceleration) but it wasn't a distraction, and it leveled out pretty quickly. In conserve mode, it was definitely a distraction where we all said "whoa! #*($" and I took my foot immediately off of the accelerator as I...
I didn't have a chance to engage with any guides after the test drive as we had to leave pretty soon thereafter but the guide that was with me was also surprised. It was just like a boat, but that's not a good thing because you're looking up at the sky vs. at the road where obstacles may be. I...
Was at the same event. Very similar observations.
I went in worried about UI lag based on other comments but was very surprised. Slow UI's drive me nuts after getting used to modern phones so this would have been a deal breaker for me in a car with so few manual controls. Turns out, it's not...
Yeah, my apologies, I should have clarified. Based on some measurements I took at the vehicle demo in the bay area, (which was admittedly still an early prototype), I was worried it wouldn't fit through the hatch opening at all, except at an extreme roll angle but it sounds like it will go in...
I am sure this has been posted somewhere else but i just got confirmation from CS that sheet goods can indeed sit flat in the back of the R1S (albeit with some hanging out) but it solves a big transport question for small amounts of building material (vs. angled, roof rack/tie down, or utility...
