happy to report that after 5 days of no driving hooked up to the battery tender jr 800ma and i've lost 2%. the car does keep waking up all the time when i go in and out of the 90-100F garage (hear the clicks and beeps). i might consider buying a 1-2A tender to see if that does better in the...
looks like you have dual 12V batteries. did you hook it up to both? (passenger side has a negative terminal).
i'll post pics of my single 12V setup in a few days. it was a lot easier. since it was just one 12V and i used the 8mm bolt on the bottom left most for my 800ma tender. it's been 4...
i'm doing my own experiment with my old 800ma tender and so far after 2 days i haven't lost anything when i normally lose 1-1.5% overnight. i hooked it up to a smart plug and can see that it's been using about 10W up until this morning since i really only drive the car on weekends
lead acid batteries like to be charged. my last ICE car had the OEM battery from the dealership after 11 years of ownership. it sat on an 800ma battery tender it's entire life whenever it wasn't driven (weekend only car).
it is seriously loud now. replaced the stock subwoofer with a JL and even that is significantly louder now. used to listen at 10-14 depending on local road / freeway and now anything over 8 is LOUD. regular driving is in the 6-7 range now
reading this thread and i can confirm this car sucks in regards to vampire drain. i've had 1-2%/day for months now. it's costing me $30/month in electricity! i have proximity completely off, and keyfob battery out. yet even when the car has sat for an entire 1-2 days, if i even walk near the car...
since it has the ability to do low latency, multi-room audio streaming and multi-speaker pairing, rivian should really allow it to connect to the car's audio system to provide a little extra bass in the R1S. bass is so anemic, a little extra thump in the front of the cab would be nice!
i specifically went into the menu when i got the car to turn off prox for the fob (since it sits in a box in a drawer in my house). i know that my phone key is connecting to the car all the time because i can see the rivian phone key notification say "Connected to Rivian" with my pixel phone...
seems to help! i wrote down yesterday that at noon i had 65%. i have not touched the car or refreshed the app since then, but have walked past it many times. opened app just now and its at 64%. garaged car with proximity off at home and gear guard off. ambient temps were about 50F last night and...
yep, there is a proximity lock setting > lock/unlock, lock only, off. i have mine set to off. car stays unlocked and handles presented while at home. however it doesn't truly fall asleep because sometimes when walking by the car when in the garage it starts up with clicks and beeps as if it's...
50-60F garage, no gear guard. proximity off at home. i do notice that every time i walk by the car it wakes up. you can hear the clicks and beeps as it powers on. no idea why especially when the doors are always unlocked while in the garage too
no one wants the liability these days. if you took it to a gas station tire shop type place and paid cash with no receipt transaction they'd have no problem patching it from the inside. at least in my experience
if you do, the metal here is a bit uneven so i used some foam tape to cover the metal plate then drilled a few small holes and screwed it in with some sheet metal screws. it's nice and secure, and i can check if the amp went into protect or something quickly. so long as more springs don't break...
they'll probably work just fine, but posi-lock taps are the best taps available for a secure tap. if you use those you'll need to make sure they cut into the jacket well enough and are making contact with the metal inside the tap, then do a good job crimping with a crimper, not plain old pliers
i replaced my stock sub this past weekend with a JL 10TW1-2 and a JL MX300/1 and NVX sound deadener mat. was pretty straight forward to be honest. the JL sub fits perfectly inside the plastic enclosure which i nearly completely covered in sound deadener.
tested without covering the enclosure...
