Absolutely, the app is location based so you need to be waiting "near" (unsure what the actual distance is) the pickup location for 5 minutes in order to cancel without affecting your rating and you get a $5 cancellation fee. The rider starts incurring "waiting charges" when your app senses...

The driver's rating isn't affected if they cancel, but the app does track your acceptance rate (how many times you accept the rides presented to you) and cancellation rate (canceling the ride for any reason other than "rider did not show" which requires you to wait at pickup for 5 minutes)...

As an Uber driver, you rate the rider as the trip ends and you don't get alerted about any tips until an hour after the drive for exactly this reason.

Also thinking my battery is dying, but wondering if it might have been the most recent update. I have had my R1T for a year and did replace the battery once already so it shouldn't be dead again.
