Good point on the holster.
I suppose I could just mount a standalone holster up higher than the charger in the center of the wall, then it would stick out vs sideways.
With being assigned a guide finally (even though she's unresponsive), I figured I should get myself setup on a charging spot since I have the Rivian wall charger on order along with the truck.
200amp service in the house, with space on the panel. This is actually less amperage than my...
.... who is on vacation until tomorrow.
Man, Rivian must love seeing these poor guides get SLAMMED with anxious pre-order holders when they return to work, as I've seen quite a few instances like my own where you get a guide assigned and they are out on vacation.
Other thoughts:
1. I did...
It's clearly incredibly random. You'll get there. I'm just as shocked as you that I did. But, who knows what the actual timeline will be. Haven't spoken to my guide yet.
I feel your pain. I was surprised to see the email after seeing so many others with a later order date get theirs.
I did change my primary contact address to Cambridge, not sure if that helped. Closer to the Chelsea service center than my original address by about 1.5 hours.
For those of us waiting (patiently.... or otherwise) for our trucks who tow, having some real life data of towing from you all fortunate enough to have gotten deliveries already would be helpful.
If it's not too much trouble, could you post up trip examples with conditions, trip length, type...
I'll have to find the old email and see if that's how they worded it. Perhaps I was being overly hopeful of communication and reading into it more than the reality.
Rivian had said earlier that they were going to be reaching out to all current pre-order holders to confirm configuration and potential changes by the end of May.
Has anyone seen this occur yet?
I haven't been contacted, and it doesn't appear many others have as well.
10 days to go.....
My local utility (National Grid) offers a few cents per kwh debate for charging during certain times, with a supported charger or vehicle. Currently they don't support any Rivian vehicles, but you could use a Chargepoint charger and get the rebate.
I wonder if the Rivian charger will support...
It's still a good amount of consumption, but WAY better. Good job Rivian.
I'd hope for more improvement, but that's well within the acceptable range for me.
