  1. Having R1S Winter Fun - 950 miles from mountain to sea @ 1.9 miles per kw on snow tires(!)

I have had really good luck with Blizzaks on my other vehicles. Glad to hear they work on Rivans too!
  2. Having R1S Winter Fun - 950 miles from mountain to sea @ 1.9 miles per kw on snow tires(!)

Excellent! Better range than I would have guessed with snow tires, What kind and size of snow tires are you using?
  3. No tax credit for customers with binding contracts.

1st: They could have shipped to those customers who had orders that were multiple years old and had signed the binding contract before the end of 2022. 2nd: If they were supposed to send the info to the IRS and didn't that is their fault. I guess they could have taken the ford approach and did...
  4. PSA: Careful Parking on ANY Incline...

most cars only put the parking brake on one end, usually the rear. What happened there had nothing to do with TVs or the Rivian, any car could have done the same thing. (look for ice, look at what tires you are using, etc. Rivian is doing enough crap that they don't need to be called out on...
  5. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

If you find yourself near Childs RD and in need of a charge, stop in. I have already had the Rivian charger installed in anticipation of a Q4 2022 delivery.
  6. Tip the delivery guy?

If they ever do decide to delivery my R1S (October 2020 order) I will gladly tip the deliver person something ! It is not unusual for me to give a small cash tip to some delivery guys because this trip is quite aways away from anything.
  7. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

I am in western Montana too! (Trout Creek). Giving the BS they are putting out bout service centers we may never get a Rivian sold to us. Some people who are within 5 miles of a Rivian service center say they are getting the PE BS with the same excuse about service centers. If you have to live...
  8. Rivian to cut 6% of workforce amid price war

This ought to help to really speed up those deliveries! ;-)
  9. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

The "waiting for service center" is pure BS. Do they not know about the internet and forums and that BS like that is very easy to spot nowadays ? They might as well blame it on Covid, or "The Computer" or something.
  10. [Poll] How did your R1S delivery estimate change w/ latest update?

Mine went from "Processing Estimate" to "Processing Estimate". Great job rivian! Worst part of it is that I trusted them when they had my delivery as Q4 2022 before the september/october fiasco so I sold my Landcruiser and we have been a 1 auto family since then. I guess on the plus side, I...
  11. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

As expected: (from rivian) We previously told you that you could expect your delivery window estimate this January. As we continue planning the roll out of a Rivian Service Center in your area, we need more time to understand when that site will be ready to support your vehicle's delivery...
  12. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

Don't worry, there will be another "update" in 3 months that will briefly flash a horrible date and then switch back to "processing estimate". At this point I may be too old to drive by the time the deliver the vehicle. R1S October 2020 order date. Before being condemned to "Processing Estimate"...
  13. PSA - Don’t destroy / curb a wheel like I did (tips to avoid)

    Maybe this will help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curb_feeler
  14. Hmm, just go this email: It’s time to order your F-150 Lightning™ truck.

Wow! I suppose that is legal but doesn't seem honest. Frankly this whole lightning thing has left me very sour on Ford. It would have been my 7th Ford product (including a tractor before they sold that division off to New Holland). I found out after the fact that I was the profile that they...
  15. Hmm, just go this email: It’s time to order your F-150 Lightning™ truck.

When I was in Denver a few months back the guy there told me they had just delivered an R1S to South Dakota so I didn't figure it would be too big of a deal. Oh well, at this rate by the time I get it it will be a classic collectable ;-)
  16. Hmm, just go this email: It’s time to order your F-150 Lightning™ truck.

"ordered" well after I placed my R1S order and at a reasonable price at the time. Since then: Price has gone up 40% and ford did not have the insight to issue binding contracts so their customers could still get the tax credit like Rivian did. Lastly: The R1S looks like a much better vehicle...
  17. 400 Mile Round Trip (GSP to CHS to GSP) with Trailer Towed by R1T

Just for a comparison. I recently had to go from the farm (middle of nowhere ) to Missoula to pick up a 20' tilt bed trailer. Truck: Ford F350 super duty, 2017 Registered for 26,000 pound GCVWR (it could have been registered for much higher but that brings a whole other set of regulations to...
