This might be the best improvement of any single change I've done. I filled both of these grooves with uxcell EPDM foam tubing. Don't ask me what sizes as they were left over pieces I had. One wasn't long enough to go the entire way but covered about 95% of it. I think the smaller one was about...
Hopefully this can be resolved by the time my topper shows up. I absolutely want to go this route. I sold my old tonneau cover and bought a manual one that will work with this style of mounting. I want the additional privacy of the tonneau cover.
That would be cool and allow easy access to AC functions. Alternatively, you can use the half-baked Alexa voice commands. What crappy implementation that is.
Theoretically, I would say the Rivian is what they claim. In practice, with the crappy fitment, it hurts that number. As mentioned, this impacts the noise and efficiency.
FYI - the R1S has a better drag coefficient at .28 vs the R1T .30 so you'd think it would get better efficiency on the...
Put me on the side of begrudgingly finally appreciating FSD more. I still think it was a mistake to go vision only but for 90% of the weather conditions I deal with it works very well. It has improved a lot over the last 3 years on both my 3 and S even running HW3.
I didn't appreciate it as...
I've pretty much sealed the door. I've done the trimlok, extra seals, etc. For me it is more about hearing the wind buffeting than an air leak. I've done a lot to smooth the airflow where the windshield meets the roof. I've listened while driving, and most of the noise still the A pillar and it...
That is actually true. I am not even aware of any wind noise even creeping up until about a buck 60 or 70. You are just cruising along and the next thing you are up to a buck 50 unless you have any close visual clues. I wish my Rivian was like that.
If I have time over the next few days, I am...
I figured the tightening would come regarding warranty claims since they have bled so much cash. Pretty soon many issues will be "within spec" since they all do it, even if they are all broken. I feel they might be following in the footsteps of Tesla.
@Lmoore101 - ping me offline if you want...
Thanks for the feedback.
I looked at all those posts and tried most of them individually and then took them out when they didn't seem to work. I then tried to approach it holistically and decided to adopt the Atomic Habits approach. A percent here, a 1/2 percent there, 2% somewhere else, and so...
I think a fair amount of people will have issues with them, even if no serious offroading. I base that on reading the tea leaves here. Enough people have started having issues that it is definitely on my radar of things to look out for.
I'll change my vote from yes, to a maybe. The wind noise issue has me at the end of my rope. Truck is amazing until about 70 mph. The wind noise from 75 mph up wants to pray at times that an asteroid hits my truck when it is parked and I am nowhere near it.
The quality control regarding putting...
I second, third and fourth the saying about the OEM glass being crap. I already got a chip and I stay way away from other cars and trucks. No drafting for me.
On the plus side, maybe they'll actually set your glass correctly and have even gaps all around and you'll end up with less wind noise...
Before the update, my G1 infotainment was as bad as what others were experiencing. Now mine appears to function the way others were complaining about. It is several seconds lag between screens. Before it wasn't as quick as my Teslas, but it was never more than a second. About the time I'd think...
That is a pretty broad exclusionary cause. I agree with checking it out, but still, that is very much subject to interpretation as to what constitutes reckless driving.
Given the cost of a shock, I'd get an attorney involved if you don't get any satisfaction. A few hundred bucks to write you a...
That is seriously lame. If any usage would have likely killed the shock it would be highspeed washboard running. I killed a few shocks that way in my buggies and offroad race trucks.
