Yeah ... and it was on a weekend during the Holiday break, so extra busy. Don't get me wrong. I'd love it if everything moved to the NACS connector as standard. It's so much better in so many ways. I just think we're many years away from that...
Additionally, per https://rivian.com/newsroom/article/rivian-showcases-next-generation-charger-designed-for-all-evs they say:
These chargers will deliver rapid charging to both 400 and 800-volt packs and feature CCS connectors with support for North American Charging Standard (NACS)-equipped...
My understanding is that the V1/V2 superchargers use a proprietary Tesla protocol and that's why it can't talk to anything else. My brother had to replace the charger controller module in his Model Y to support the CCS protocol to be able to use non-Tesla chargers. That's what I meant by "they...
If folks didn't give their opinion, this thread would have a single response: "no news".
As for my opinion, I don't personally understand the strong desire for native NACS over CCS yet. The charger infrastructure is highly split and to get the flexibility you want when charging, you need to...
I think the biggest difference between Casting and Airplay to note: Casting sends control data from the sender to the receiver, whereas Airplay is sending an actual video stream from sender to receiver. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that Rivian supported both (which is an actual...
This makes me think it's not fully seated, then, as it's designed to sit directly on the angled front (where the usb ports are). Hm... I wonder if the design itself could have a channel for a cable to be routed like this ... I might have to play with that.
In my case, mine wasn't broken (I've never had a problem, actually). I was just showing how it's done. But the latches aren't "locked" per-se. The electronics just open the latches, but they're free to move at any time, so opening things manually does not affect how the electronics work.
I've looked into trying to figure out a manual unlock mechanism for the center console if the car lost power or something like this happens. They've done a good job of making it hard to access the lock tabs. In my playing with it, though, I did notice the button responsiveness can be spotty...
Here me doing initial fit testing of the new lock tab.
Ah. I didn't realize ASA restricted overhangs like that. The clips on all the accessories definitely need supports. They're small supports and should come off pretty cleanly, but they do need them.
Thanks for that detailed writeup/review! FWIW, the upper tray isn't supposed to need supports at all. The overhangs do come out at a 60 degree angle, which is pushing the boundaries a bit, but I figured with today's printers that should be doable without supports for many folks.
In other...
I ordered a console organizer and hand warmer on Nov 29 and finally got shipping notification yesterday. It showed 2.3LB total weight. It arrived today and had the correct parts. No NACS for me. :) So I suspect they've corrected the glitch ... for now.
You should be able to import the STEP files directly into whatever slicer you use. I think all the popular ones now support them natively. They should include the feet.
