OOO daddy likey! Added that offset tire combo to my master list: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/tested-35-tires-on-the-r1t-for-offroading-overlanding.11407/
Why doesn't anyone put tire deflators in their kits? Especially with the onboard compressor this is just about the EASIEST way to improve grip in nearly any circumstance, and I use these every offroad trip. Far easier than fussing with tire gauges (I still check though), and I've found them to...
I've used this Sheridan hitch skid for probably 5 years of offroading with my ZR2 before the Rivian came along, and its transferred over nicely. I like that the wider plate helps protect the chain rings and electrical plug, but it looks like some other cool options have hit the market since...
After a couple death valley trips and rock crawls, the rear suspension is getting pretty beat up on my truck. No failures on the hoses but the rear passenger shock is leaking oil despite being well-protected. I'm probably going to spend some time prototyping some LCA and hydraulic hose...
Bought this one on sale for under $300 on black friday: BODEGAcooler 12V Portable Car Fridge T36 38Qt/36L
38qt and dual zone fridge/freezer or convertible to just fridge, its just a hair under 14.25" high so fits great under the tonneau that may eventually work some day.
I have a set of cargo crossbars brand new in the box for sale, located in Lompoc, CA
Asking $420 OBO, no shipping, sorry! I do frequently travel to the Bay Area and LA for family reasons, so if you're in one of those areas I could arrange a pickup/dropoff.
Though that is true that I hope they're working on it, pretty sure in this video its just the filming frames and shutter speed are synching up with the wheel speed giving the optical illusion of being still. You can still see snow being sprayed backwards from the tires.
Kinda like when people...
I originally chalked it up to the EA chargers being lame, but ultimately it got worse and I found my truck wouldn't connect with ANY chargers. Submit a service ticket because when I took mine in for service they found a faulty "central gateway module" which is the thing that the vehicle uses to...
Oddly enough, traction boards are my least-used piece of recovery gear, they just rarely ever do the trick except in deep sand.
The top two recovery tools I've used are:
- Shovel
- Kinetic rope w/soft shackles
But yeah, the above linked list has all the goodies you'd ever want.
I've used a 7/8" ASR rope for years now and their quality is top notch. Also, how you secure the rope/strap to the vehicle is equally important! Get good soft and hard shackles!
Never trust any equipment that doesn't come will a WLL, proof load rating and yield strength rating, and inspect...
In my experience, the rivian does respond well to dragging the brake while using gas in offroad mode, this helps put a little load on the wheels that freely spin, which can help trick the computers into giving a slightly more linear pedal response.
Play around! Either way the truck seems to...
@oybed Updated table, thanks! That satin wrap is some hotness!
@dp351 Updated table, thanks! Color combo looks excellent, got that iron man look.
@Desiboy Honestly, I drive most of the time in normal ride height in soft, and it takes a BIG bump to get them to rub, so really at this point I...
