Nobody knows. For those paying attention, the configurator won't go live until June, and we know employees get first, probably followed by celebrities and/or influencers, then by reservations held by current Rivian owners. If it runs similar to R1, then you'll never get a linear delivery plan...
Don't really care about the Lidar (or anything more than "driver assist" via adaptive cruise and lane keep), but they'll need to come up with a 3 motor variant to tear me away from my R1T Quad which still beats the Performance R2 to 60 despite being significantly heavier and sitting on pretty...
It's doubtful you paid $700 a year in oil changes unless you were driving ALOT. Also, being in need of an oil change is far different from having your vehicle bricked (possibly without warning) and requiring a tow and SC visit....
The thing is, you still have to make 2 botton pushes to kneel. You have always been able to accomplish this by pressing "mode" and then sport low(est)......
You have no one to blame but youself. It looks like the terms were clearly disclosed, you just ignored or misunderstood them. Complaining about it on a blog just makes you look like a crybaby
Both of the Scout vehicles are similar to the R1's with a cheaper price tag and potentially significantly better range (with the gas generator). That's not competition for those in the market for an R2 sized vehicle, but will certainly complete with R1.
Good idea because of the rapidly changing/upgraded tech (if you can keep within the allotted mileage). That said, month to month cheaper, and cheaper overall are very different. It's use-case (and individual financial variable) dependent....
But Rivian is a startup EV / software company that also has a smallish charging network just because (marketing.). Tesla is a tech and energy company that focused on building out an EV network very early on to drive the adoption of EVs when nobody was willing to partner and build. Rivian is...
Do you actually own an R1? If so, have you tried to activate "kneel mode"? Short of that, you can just hit "sport mode" set to the lowest suspension setting as you are pulling up to a stop or after you stop (as I have been doing for my Dog who is getting older and my in-laws and folks).
The biggest problem for me is that I love my R1T and it suits my current needs. I may have to skip out on my day 1 R2 reservation. That said, I’m less than 1k miles from being out of warranty and am a little anxious about that. Regardless, I probably wouldn’t consider the switch until a 3...
If it’s too annoying to wait the 10 seconds for the truck to kneel, and you don’t mind the harsh ride at the lowest setting, sure.
Keep in mind your vehicles alignment is for the middle setting so you will wear your tires out more quickly unless you have the alignment done specifically to suit...
It's always been an issue with me on both sides. I don't know that there is an adjustment to be made, just a questionable engineering choice to only have it unlatch for about 2 seconds and not pop out further.......My work around has been to just open the rear passenger door when I hit the gear...
