This isn't just voice control. There is a Large Language Model running in the back-end. (Gemini I think) that Rivian has to pay for - thus the paywall behind Connect+ because Rivian wants to recoup some of those costs.

As @electruck said, you can try EVPLAY - it converts your center screen into android auto or apple car play as well as streaming, etc... I don't have one or use it (no need to) so I can't answer questions about it, but there are forum members that have it and use it.

For current R1S vehicles, you can buy an EVPLAY - looks like that enables streaming without Connect+ EV play Also enables Android Auto and Apple Carplay for those that like that. Not sure if there will be R2 support, but I would guess there would be.
