Nice!
Those are two big caveats though: 1.) a $520.00 harness (plus tarrifs) and 2.) no co-op steering. I really like the co-op steering as it helps correct some of the model's tendencies to stick on the inside of the curves and it allows me to keep the system on when comma gets confused...
Wonder if this is to get ahead of new requirements:

One of the easier ways to talk about battery health is by comparing the original battery capacity, in kilowatt-hours (kWh), to the current battery capacity. The change between the original and the current...
I have had good experiences with them.
My last experience in particular was very positive. They were upfront that service would take some time as my issue was something they hadn’t seen before and they wanted to put their best tech in it so it was going to be a day or two before they could even...
Is that just surface rust, or is that deeper? If it's just surface rust, I'd clean the rust off and use something like this periodically: Boeshield T9. T9 is good stuff.
I wouldn't use the covers as that may make the situation worse by trapping moisture.
I have the EV Sportline rock sliders. I bought the R1S used and it came with them. Previously the service center in Minneapolis charged me $200 to remove and reinstall during a service. This time, when they changed the high voltage battery, I let them know ahead of time that the sliders have...
I'd be willing to volunteer to demo for anyone in the Twin Cities area.
I installed it this weekend and found a slightly easier way than bending the cable. I couldn't figure out how to remove the white plastic connector with the two cables going in (and was afraid of breaking it), so it really...
I got it! I was usng sunnylink to turn it on. When you mentioned the setting on the device itself i went out and found it on the comma 4 itself and it was disabled. I enabled it and it works perfectly!!!!! Thanks you @gerrylum for all your help and for your awesome install tips and...
Maybe it is? I thought id see the speed limit on the comma 4. Additionally i still have Rivians blue icon and follow distance. Here’s what i see on comma
Hi all,
Was hoping to get some help. I installed comma 4 today, along with lucas’ harness and longitudinal upgrade and sunnypilot and while the steering works, i cant get it to use comma for longitudinal control. Its still using rivians longitudinal control. Ive enabled it in the options...
I don't think EVs are going to increase range much from the 300ish they have now because even if the batteries improve on energy density, manufacturers are going to just use smaller batteries to lower costs. I think what's more likely to solve this issue is better fast charging. The BYD blade...
.
Agree that erev is dead-end tech.
Scout should focus on the ev side. Higher volt architectures with better fast charging. Chinese batteries like the BYD blade 2 with appropriate fast charger can charge from 10-100% in 10 minutes. If I were Scout I would be trying to license that. That’s...
To update this issue where my climate preconditioning schedule is not working-service texted this a.m. apparently there is a clock in the high voltage battery(?) that is “stuck” and that is why my climate preconditioning is not functioning. They are replacing the hv battery under warranty...
I'm having the same issue OP. I'm also having an issue where my climate WILL NOT precondition on a schedule. If I set a schedule in either the car or app, as long as the schedule is set to more than an hour in the future, the car will not wake up and precondition. My app and car schedules are...
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree that they are a great company. Toyota spends a lot of money actively lobbying against climate change regulations. See e.g., public citizen; Guardian; Electric Vehicle Association;
Oh, and their CEO was recently spotted in a.... unique outfit ... ...
I must be unique because I actually think regen rocks in snow driving! I've kept it in all purpose mode all winter in the snowy midwest and its the most rock-solid car I've ever driven in the snow. I'm not sure what people are talking about with respect to slipping and regen. I find that...
I'll be honest and say that I think that the ultimate goal of FSD is to mandate its use. Essentially convince the authorities that its so much safer and needs to be mandated for you to drive. That way it locks you into a monthly fee to use your car.
