I whole heartedly disagree with your post.
Rivian has yet to make the vehicle that was ordered and the customer wanted (their dream car). Why should someone have to settle for less? I waited an extra 8 months to get my configuration.
Rivian needs to everything in their power to make it right...
I find the Rivian nav to be fine. I wish I could easily select alternatives routes, but the nav is fine. It is point #3 that I most want incorporated into the Nav. Text to Speech and back, like my 11 year old Subaru has.
I agree, the Rivian does a fine job of alerting me about a vehicle in my blind spot (when I use my signal/indicator); However, why the F' doesn't anything show on the vehicle display?
When a car is in the back corner, my Rivian has a some lights on the display, a car in front, displays as a...
Be sure and download all the charging company apps before your trip.
We returned Sunday from our first long trip, Seattle to Santa Fe to Las Vegas and back, and found charging to be easy.
We used/needed Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, and EV Connect.
The only issue we had was with the...
Update: I received a phone call from Rivian on my service ticket last night, (7 pm, Sunday), they gave me an appointment at the Auburn, WA center in two weeks. A much more reasonable time frame.
I don't know why the app doesn't book for that location, but I'm very happy that the company is...
Just returned from a long road trip; the R1S is a great road car, and it is time for the first service and a couple adjustments/repairs.
The next available service appointment is in August, four months out.
Totally Unacceptable Rivian
I have mostly good things to say about Rivian, but I found the use of legacy add on fees to be extremely disappointing. With direct marketing / sales they had the opportunity to make the process transparent, but they opted not to go that route. Why not an out the door price + local and state taxes.
I wish charging infrastructure was better and had more options. That would help with range issues.
I'm glad for apps like PlugShare, but the lack of fast charging in many areas limits when I'll take my R1S.
eg, Reno to Vegas in our CRV 7 hours in the Rivian almost 11 hours, with two long...
I had the same issue on my R1S, when it was less than 2 weeks old. Service Center did a hydro test and found 4 areas of water infiltration. They replaced some seals, and everything has been fine since. However, it doesn't fill me with confidence, and I no longer put anything in that area that...
I had an experience with unacceptable heating on a two hour drive, when it was only 40 degrees out. The cabin never got above 50. I tried lots of different setting to no avail. Then the next day everything was normal again. Still makes me nervous about the heater.
In settings there is option for parking at home that will keep the car from waking; keep locked or unlocked at home, or something to that effect.
Solved that problem for me.
I didn't mind the pay before seeing piece, as I know any issues are covered by contract law; but I really wish Rivian had more straight forward out the door pricing instead of the traditional car dealer markups (doc fees, destination, etc ...)
Glad your R1 is not having the same problem. I don't think it is that common of an issue, but since it is in an area that doesn't get used or looked at very often I thought people should be made aware. A leak not be found would lead to mold.
