I changed my config right before our first guide contact. Went from FG/FE with black ATs to FG/BM with standard 20s.
I like the FE and its not the same old, but I think for us BM will be fine.
Do wish I would have stuck with the black wheels. Tried to change to the black wheels but my guide...
Rivian guide texted me today and said they have matched us with a new vehicle and once it passes inspection they will schedule delivery.
I asked if it was a new VIN (for insurance purposes) and did not receive a response yet but I am assuming so since theoretically a different/new vehicle.
After discussion with my guide today they are trying to locate a new vehicle in my area and fixing the one I technically own. I was told both might be available around 4/28. I said my preference was for a new truck. After the back and forth I get the feeling they are going to try their best to...
I did get some more insight via my guide. Apparently the entire tailgate was replaced. For the scratch to be fixed the entire driver's door has to be repainted (re-dipped). I wonder how long will the repainting take?
I am asking for a new vehicle to be assigned.
Just heard back from our guide. The truck is back from the body shop and is ready for delivery ASAP.
But....
There is one very little scratch below the driver's side window. I was asked if I would be open to taking delivery and opening a ticket to have service fix it later.....
The truck was...
Thanks for the thoughts. I think the truck was dropped off in Atlanta for repair. The guide mentioned our vehicle being "dropped off at an Atlanta body shop for a quote". Perhaps the truck was damaged close to us or on the way to the Atlanta SC for prep?
At this point I think it is going to be...
Thanks DaveA.
Yours is a tough spot to be in. Easy to say, tough to do, but if you get that feeling inside that you aren't satisfied do not accept it. Especially for a paint rework.
Luckily I've owned enough cars in my lifetime and at a age (and position) I will not settle.
When our guide...
"Maybe its worth your time just going directly to the body shop un-annouced to see if the repair is to your liking. "
It's almost a 5 hour drive (one way) or I would consider it.
I'm probably going to wait for delivery, if it shows up and it's not 'right', I'll either ask for a new truck or...
I received a text from our guide this morning. Apparently the body shop has received the part they needed and said they should have it repaired in two days. I asked the guide to see if they could double check panels, paint, etc. as to avoid receiving the vehicle with any issues that would force...
I appreciate the response and wanted to make a couple of comments.
1)Of course, I try to treat people the way I would want to be treated. Our guide was proactive in communicating their frustration (to me) in the way Rivian has thus far been handling our situation. According to the guide, they...
Not sure if Rivian guides were working today as it was Good Friday and we are heading into Easter. I texted my guide but received no response. Will try again on Monday.
Sorry to hear of your experience, not a fun club to be in.
Like you, I believe Rivian's comms are just that bad at the moment. The guide is trying but they are only as good as what they are told.
Your thoughts are well reasoned.
I appreciate the reply.
Fair. Perhaps I should have included that in my original post. What I was told at first was it was the tail gate and light bar. Then a week later when I inquired again I was told it was "deliverable" but they wanted to make sure the truck was 110% perfect before I received it. But that seems to...
Our delivery date was March 25th. That morning we received a text from our guide saying the truck had been damaged in transit. Guide estimated 2 weeks for repair. After not hearing any updates I reached out to our guide who said the truck was at a body shop getting estimates and I should get it...
