Yeah, you'd just slide it in on its back and it would fit perfectly. The unit is very robust and would be fine stored like that.

The KC is very sturdy on uneven ground, you can also fold them away and use the KC flat on the ground, with he smaller style built in legs. I'm sure you a buy everything separately but the build quality and the convenience that the KC offers, for a couple of hundred $'s is well well worth it...
