We travel with our dog all the time and use Pet Mode. I have yet to have anyone say anything. Likely because our pooch is usually curled up snoozing....and can't be bothered to get up and check out strangers next to the car.😂

We have the dometic CFX3. It fits fine under the tonneau . We have a gen 1 T if it makes a difference. We've had it a couple of years and have been happy with it. I haven't price shopped against other options. Spendy ..I'm sure we used rewards points at REI.

I'm with you. It seems to me to be a bit less usable right now. More times it disengages for no understandable reason than it used to. I'm sure there will be an upcoming bug fix for it. But I love using it on wide open drives across North Dakota, Montana and country like that.
