I paid for all supplies myself and had a friend install it. It was about $200 for 40’ 6 awg wire, $100 for outdoor flex conduit, and he charged me $300 for installation.

I’m not too bothered about most of this but I would never consider a spare tire an accessory. If I get a flat on day 1 of ownership I don’t want to have to call a tow truck to take me to get it repaired/replaced.

I think this is a little odd too. I’ve been looking at places I’d like to go soon like Big Bend, Palo Duro Canyon, Lincoln National forest in NM, Heck even Colorado and it can be tough due to lack of charging infrastructure. I was really hoping Rivian was going to help open up some of these...

As a method of somewhat future proofing, I’d request oversized conduit be run from the breaker panel to charger locations. that way if more powerful chargers or an extra wire is someday needed, it can easily be pulled without any tear out.
